Last week I spent a little while one evening running vin# of many cars I have owned in the last 15 years....there were many errors in the title information and damage info...what gives here....all my cars have been titled commercially for years as RENT-A-CARS....this only showed up on a few of the cars...the rest show no trace of a commercial title....had a car that was severly damaged years ago...again, no mention of this...had a car that suffered relatively minor damage, again no mention of this...I guess the bottom line is don't trust CARFAX much more than pictures in the mail...they both have a tendency to not show everything...at least on my cars there were many errors..... |

I bought a Porsche from a gentleman in Minneapolis and did a Carfax before I went to pick it up and it came back okay. When I got it back to Indy I found out the car had been a total and this man had rebuilt this car and had titled it in his name. Carfax gave me my money back for giving me bad advice and I lost out from spending too much money just trying to fix all of the broken items that were hidden and that I found out were not fixed after I had it home. So I don't trust Carfax either. Denis |
