Getting to the "Prowler Fall Foliage Cruise" from CT, RI, NY and Western MA

Like myself, I am sure most of you want to attend the Prowler Fall Foliage Cruise Event in NH & ME, but you are concerned about the time/distance in just getting to the gathering place for the start of the event. Here are some options:

1. Get up Early On Sunday Oct 13 and make it a FULL day. Those of us close to Hartford can group up in the Hartford area (7:15AM) and cruise up to NH welcoming center as a caravan of Prowlers. The NH welcoming center rest area on I-95 is a little more than 2 hours from Hartford.

2. Drive up to Northeastern Mass or Southeastern NH on Saturday (Oct 12) afternoon and stay over night in an affordable Hotel. This option splits up the driving and allows you to sleep in a little. It maybe difficult to find an affordable hotel because of the seasonal "leaf-peepers" prices?

3. Do Not attend the event....Forget this option because you know want to attend the event to see all the different colored Prowlers and see what mods people have done. Plus your passenger wants to go and see all the spectacular views and Fall Foliage.

All Info on this event is posted: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/007359.html

I have found a reasonable hotel to stay at for Saturday (Oct 12) night in Portsmouth, NH. Listed below is the Hotels Info:

Motel 6
3 Gosling Rd, Portsmouth, NH 03801
(603) 334-6606
$81.99 – 2 Person (Queen or 2 double beds)
$75.99 – Single

I have called many hotels and Inns, within a 25 mile radius and they all seemed to be booked, require a minimum of a 2 night stay, or they are $200+ a night. I recommend make a reservation at the Motel 6 soon, only 26 rooms are left. The Motel 6 is a new hotel.

The hotel is located in a safe neighborhood near the old Pease Air Force base and the Fox Run mall. Shopping in NH is tax free, so shoppers might want to take advantage of discounts at the mall. Located on the old Pease Air Force Base (1000 feet from the hotel) is the Red Hook Brewery. The quaint town of Portsmouth is only 2.7 miles away from the hotel.

Here is a Plan:

Saturday, Oct 12

1:30PM - Depart the Hartford. (Depart location being planned)

4:00PM – Arrive in Portsmouth and Check in.

6:00PM – Cruise through the Town of Portsmouth and then have dinner at the Red Hook Brewery.

Sunday, Oct 13

9:00 AM – Check out of the hotel and eat Breakfast at the Friendly Toast (quaint restaurant) in Portsmouth.

10:30 AM – Meet Larry Foss at the I-95 NH Exit 3 Bus Terminal Parking lot and then cruise to ME to get the rest of the gang.

Those Owners living in the Hartford area the gathering place will be the Sunoco Gas Station straight off the I-84, Exit 63 at 1:30pm on Saturday. We will gather with owners from Western Mass and NY on I-90 rest stop 1 mile east of the I-84 interchange at 2:30pm.
