If your tranny goes into limp mode,,,,engine light comes on but the speedo still works - failure of input tranny sensor
As explained to me by a certified DC transmission tech. Keep those thoughts in mind,,,,carry spare sensors,,,,and a 1" deep socket to replace. ------------------

Are you trying to get promoted from Janitor at the Museum to mechanic's helper? That is a good tip, thanks. I just carry an adjustable pipe wrench so it will fit almost anything. |

A/C--- When the tranny goes in to the limp mode, are you referring to it going into 2nd gear and staying there?? That's what happened to me just the other day and the kat is in the shop as I'm writing this. |

Harry, that is the limp mode. You can "limp" to the dealer. If you disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes you can override it sometimes. It is usually just a temporary cure. Disconnecting the battery means the cars computer will lose the code and if it does not do it again right away they will not be able to diagnose the problem. It beats driving 50 miles in second gear and here in Cincinnati you really do not want to start off in second gear on most of these hills. |

Thanks Ed---Don't think my dealer's aware of that, but I'll be sure to "bring them up to date" first thing in the AM. |

Harry - Ed's description is correct. Sandy has said that Ed is in 'limp mode' most every day!

A/C, in grade school my report card always had check marks next to "does not follow instructions well", "does not complete the task at hand" and "will not work with felines." |
