Just back from 3 weeks in Maui. Saw two Kats on the island that only has one 2 lane road and in some cases only one lane around the island. That was a trip two Kats in the middle of the Pacific
One in Kaanapali that was a candy red for rent and one in Kihei. The one in Kihei was sad someone didn't take care of it. Neither one belongs to the Forum so I told them about it Who knows maybe two more members.

Phil and Rita Olson, from Mesa, Arizona, have a summer home on the big island I believe. Anyway, they shipped over their yellow cat to drive around the island while there. If anyway sees them over there,,,,,,,,,,lie, and tell them its 70 degrees in Phoenix and we are ready for their return!

TK is the Candy Kat at the Exotic and Harley rental place just by Lahinia? Northern Cat that must have been quite the drive on the Hanna road in the Kat. Kaanapali area is one of my favorite places, one of my business partners and his wife are going there for a week on the 13th of this month, do you know how what the rental for the Candy Kat
was?? I will tell him to rent it and do the Hanna road.

PK, it was $ 300 a day, I think. We saw them for rent on two diff. islands. One was a mess back then, two and a half years ago.

PK - have them take that road that goes to the lighthouse, on the northeastern part of the island. Potholes as big as a house there, and may need a Hummer to pull them back. I'd think renting a cat on the big island would be a better drive, but going up to the top of the dead volcano on Maui is awesome.

Here some pics of vacation on Maui and driving the Hanna
Road...( What a blast to drive a 2400lb Yellow Prowler, Everyone gets out of your way for sure..lol)
I think I use Island Rental...Tell him to buy the audio tape and map..at the Gas station..He will know what I mean..
listen to the tape (you get a map and video to take home, only 20.00 bucks) and enjoy the drive..gas up in Hanna..
will take most of the day....Had Hotel makeup a picnic lunch
but ended up the the cooler between my wife's legs..Boy do they need a Weekender...got money off the rental if you book
at places the want to sell you a condo...But they found out we were Canadian and didn't have to go to the condo thing but still got there deal on the rental..see the pics..

My dad lives in Kihei and says that there are a couple of places that rent them out, one of the rentals is a yellow.

Here is his homepage with a couple of pictures, one of the condo's pool and one of the beach he walks down to daily http://www.maui.net/~csr/

Of course his favorite place to hang out there is at Jack in the Box... Go figure

Yes the rental place is the one you mentioned
During the time we were there I only saw the Kat about
3 or 4 days parked out front for rent. The rest of the time it was gone but I never saw it on the road. We were staying in Kahana went past the place almost every day or night. The other place was in Kehei next to a dive shop and he rented Harleys also. They were getting 4 bills a day for it. We drove the Hana in a Mustang conv and it was a blast
