I`ve heard it all, listen to this. I`ve had my prowler for a good 10 months and put at least 10k miles on it. I get alot of questions at the gas stations and parking lots, alot of stares and thumbs up. I go out of my way to be nice and answer all the questions from the admiring public. Heard alot of whopers and tried to dispell some of the myths or hypes of the prowler.
BUT!!! Last Saterday my wife phoned, wanted me to meet her at WAL-MART. I jumped in the prowler and was there in no time. I spoted a PT-Cruiser parked in the back of the lot, so I pulled up next to it. The two black cars looked rather nice parked side by side. When getting out of the car I see a lady talking to her two kids. She says in a loud voice "I would`nt drive that foreign piece of sh**." She stares right at me as I walk by. I was going to correct her but she was yelling by now. She continues to speak to her 7 & maybe 5 year old, "If you ever buy a foreign car I will disown you, Don`t even look at them (referring to the two AMERICAN made cars parked next to her). After her lecture she packed her kids in her car and drove off in a Honda Civic.
Ignorance must be bliss.

My favorite that happened to me.

Them: Wow! What kind of car is that?

Me: A Plymouth Prowler.

Them: Who makes that?

Me: Uhhhh....

In regards to the above, when ask what kind of car, I find what works best is to just say Prowler. When you add more than that you get asked again. Then I follow it up with its made by Plymouth. Ive once said to someone who was talking smack that it was a V12 popped the hood open and said look no plug wires...they replied are you sure its not a diesel?? Only reply was "Man I hope not..."

You have to love the public school districts.

Well, I think I have figured out Mopar's strategy.

First there was the Plymouth Prowler, then the Chrysler Prowler. Now advertised on eBay is the Dodge Prowler and Dodge Prowler Service manuals.

Did I miss something? #@$%@#$ now I have to buy yet ANOTHER one.

Long live the Dodge Prowler......

My personal favorite is after I tell somebody that it is a Plymouth Prowler they ask if I built it myself.

My answer is always: “Yes, as a matter of fact, I did.” With a rapid nodding of my head. What they don’t know won’t hurt them.

How much did it cost? Just give them a smile while they guess abut $60,000 and then they start guessing higher numbers. I never tell them and always leave them guessing.

No, No, No, No, Nooooooo! Plymouth Prowler was never Daimler............Chrysler Prowler was never Daimler. Chrysler Corporation dreamed, designed and built this extraordinary vehicle...........

CJ,

I was kidding - I'm aware that the Prowler was always as American as hot dogs but the woman who serves as the focus of this thread was apparently astute enough to know better...

der Herumtreiber ist Kuehl!
*I think that means "Prowler is Cool", but I'm sure someone will correct me :-)

My second best was going through a Carl`s JR. (the $6 dollar burger people) drive through and a young girl ask me "What year was my car?" I replied with its a 2000. She said "Yea, right!!" and walk to the back to get my frys.
