Went by my local Chrysler to pickup some Prowler parts; my dealer has been very straight with me. When the thread came out about 90 days ago about only 18 Prowler trailers were left. I went that day and paid in advance for one. Frank tells me yesterday that he is concerned because he doesn't think they will be built plus they are 47 on order now. I guess I don't understand why if only 18 was left why Chrysler took orders for 47 and if they have orders for 47 and many on the POA want one, why are they not filling orders? Has anyone looked at a group purchase direct with the manufacturer? Any suggestions? ------------------ |

Gene - I got one of the last ones & in fact demanded to put a down payment on it just so I have something on paper... When the order went through, the manufacturing company called the parts Dept. where I ordered it from to confirm the order... At that time, I was informed that it would take 19 - 22 weeks just to get it in & that my order was one of the last before they sold out that day . There is such a back log that even though they said that there were only 18 left, they still had 30 plus orders in front of it that were not complete. These things are constructed & painted to order, so they will take time... I won't get mine until the second week in October, just in time to go trick'o-treating... Since then, I also called the manufacturer myself just to confirm the order again & make sure they had the correct paint color... What you need to do is get the order number & dealer number from your parts supplier and call Lisa Turner at 800-635-4637 ext.7762... Even if you do not have the info she might be able to help you... Hopefully your dealer put the order in right away and did not sit on it... I hope this helps out & your trailer is on the way... WildBill |

Checked on our trailer today......mine was ordered 3rd from last. Word is, it is in fabrication will ship in 13 weeks. The 13 weeks is right in line with the 22 weeks they stated when I ordered it.So I believe the original time to get one before the mad rush was 6 to 8 weeks, so I'm looking for mine to be shipped in that time frame. Not soon enough for Lancaster. Ordered the trailer on 05/24/02. ------------------ |

WildBill, I talked with Lisa as you suggested and I am now number 3 out of 58 orders. The only problem is that my order did not get in soon enough so I will have to wait to see if they are going to build anymore. ------------------ |

quote: I will be crossing my fingers for you... I know there is a pretty good push by the club led by a very reliable & dedicated individual... If it does not happen, then it was not humanly possible... There are other options to go with and keep an eye out on ebay or hear on the site classifieds... You might want to consider purchasing any color trailer & then stripping it and repainting it to match the Woodward... It will cost more in the long run, but you will have it. the other option would to be looking at a motorcycle trailer or other fabricators... UHaul has a sharp looking & very functional Sport Trailer... We have not figured out where we could purchase one yet, so you might have to borrow it for an extended period of time Keep us posted. I will look around my area as well... Gary - I am in the same boat, err trailer, as you... WildBill |
