Question: Im the third owner but i think i have some warrantiy issues. Does the 36,000 mile three year warranty transfer over to me as well. I would like to get these little things fixed by the dealer if warranty will cover it.

I think you should double check this with a dealer, but I'm almost 100% sure that warranties do not carry over to another owner should the vehicle be sold. this is so they can sell another warranty package to the new owner.

If it doesn't transfer there are other warranties available, like Warranty Gold.

If you are talking about the factory warranty, I can tell you I bought my car on ebay last year and the dealer automatically took care of all warranty issues without me even having to ask. Unfortunately I now have 38,000+ miles!

Hey Snapcase,

I am a retired Dodge dealer. The warranty attaches to the vehicle, not the owner. In other words, if it is within 36 months from the original in-service date and has not traveled over 36,000 miles, the warranty should be in force no matter the number of owners. Now we are talking about the original "factory warranty", not an extra cost "service contract" as they have specific rules and requirements of their own. Hope this helps!

According to my policy, looks like you are out of luck...

My policy states:

CANCELLATION AND TRANSFER POLICIES: During the term of the service contract, you have the option to:
- CANCEL the remaining Plan coverage and receive a full or pro-rate refund or;
- AUTHORIZE TRANSFER of the remaining Plan coverage to the subsequent owner.

TRANSFER POLICY: The original purchaser may authorize transfer of coverage, provided the Plan has not been canceled. Remaining Plan coverage may be transferred to the first subsequent purchaser of the vehicle AT TIME OF VEHICLE SALE ONLY. Thereafter, the Plan is non-transferrable and non-cancelable.

To transfer this service contract, complete the transfer form.

.... etc....
