The post about the gas gauge made me think...has anyone really checked the MPG on one of these ...I have put around 40K miles on various Prowlers, but have NEVER checked the mileage....just curious...have a Viper that gets a little over 20MPG on the interstate(no idea about city MPG) and a Vette that gets approx 27MPG with gears and auto on the hi-way....I just know that on a long trip the Kat needs to stop more often than I do

On the Monroney label it is rated at:

23 Highway mpg
18 City mpg

I guess I've never really checked mine.....I'm having too much fun to worry about it!!

Average 20 mpg @70 mph pulling trailer

Best 24 mpg no trailer 60~65 mph

Around town about 16 mpg

It is best to plan on 150~175 miles between fuel stops and then there is no problem

On the recent trip from StL to Louisville I avg 21.1 with the cruise on 73, no a/c, top and windows up. Didn't buy the car for mpg, but my previous car (Corvette) could achieve 27 on the same trip.

For the Louisville trip I averaged 20.1 pulling the trailer. I have had as high as 23 without the trailer.

I check every tank full.. both on the computer and double check it manually.... worst tank was 16.4... best tank was 20.6.... the avg is 18.3 combined driving. I only have 2500 miles on the Kat so far though. The computer reads a touch high usually.

For reference, Vettes worst tank... 17.2 best 30.1... avg 19.2mpg.... the vettes computer reads 1 to 1.5mpg high.

Around town ave. is 19.6 to 22.5. On trip to Louisville averaged between 22.4 with a high of 25.6. I/m pleased with mileage. These figures are pretty close to average after putting on 3,000 miles. Currently 4,950 miles on car.
