My new 2000 Black Prowler was just picked up by the transport company. But instead of the 1400 mile car I purchased through Ebay, it has 2007 miles. What, if any, effect would this difference have on a vehicle?

Should I bust this guys chops or chalk it up to an honest mistake. It was the seller that wrote e-mail with the news and stated he would give me a $200 discount off the balance due.

Well the IRS calls a mile what? $0.35? That would put your 'difference' at $212.45 - sounds somewhat reasonable, especially since the guy told you. If you had to find out from the transport company (or worse, when you actually received it) it might be a bit more offensive.

If you want to be paranoid, you might want to have the transporter compare the VIN to whatever you might have had before, just to make sure it was a mistake/small change in ODO, not a wholesale swap of car.

Given the slip on mileage, I'd check the VIN and prior title carefully to be sure there isn't a problem. Could be a hot car, drowning victim, or repo. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

well if you bought off ebay then when the person put it up for sale it might of had 1400 miles then .but if the guy knew his was for sure going to sell it dont you think he would of had to put some fairwell miles on it wouldnt you if you were going to sell your car

Check the VIN # on www.carfax.com to make sure there are no problems. This website shows you everything recorded about the VIN entered.

It was a private individual, not a dealership. The car should be arriving at my home tomorrow (Tuesday). Once I have received the car I will post the particulars.
