CJ posted about the bare assembly line. Will it be used again for the next concept/production car? The name is escaping me right now. Are there plans to end Viper production as well (I don't know squat about Vipers other than they shared CAAP with the Prowler). Thanks. Mike ------------------ |

If you are referring to the Crossfire, the answer is no. That vehicle is being built in Europe. No plans to end Viper........they are finishing the last of the 2002's and will be gearing up for the new 2003 very soon. Hopefully, at some time, DC will come up with another niche vehicle that could be integrated into the plant. They are also building the engine for the new Dodge SRT/10 at this plant. |

...speaking of '03 Vipers ... saw a pilot car on a "road test" at the hotel I stayed at in Louisville recently. No badging on the car what-so-ever. Engineer was taking his luggage out and I asked about it (New Viper?). He had a travel companion in a standard RT10. If the weather had been nicer (verrry wet and drizzling) might have probed for a closer look-see/ride. He seemed interested in talking. Frankly ... did NOT like the huge air outlets behind the front wheels. They obviously had been driving hard, steam was pouring from the front rotors! |
