What's the scoop on the Dream Cruiser? Is it a limited addition, if so, how many will be made? I was told they have a tag on the dash showing the production number. Has anyone bought one yet? Ken |

Ken.... Here are all the answers you need on the Dream Cruiser...........and I believe that Larry and Sue Mayes (Wildcat) recently purchased a Dream Cruiser!
Chrysler will begin production on January 7 and will build only 7,500 units in North America, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $23,170 for the manual transaxle version and $23,995 for the automatic transaxle version (prices include $565 for destination). The 2002 Chrysler PT Dream Cruiser will be painted Inca Gold, an evolution of the color first shown on the Chrysler Pronto Cruizer concept car revealed at the 1998 Salon de l'Automobile in Geneva, Switzerland. This color, exclusive to this series of PT Cruisers, is a chrome-yellow gold with a metallic sparkle. In addition to Inca Gold paint, the vehicle will feature a "Dream Cruiser, Series 1" chrome badge on the liftgate. The car will also sport 16-inch MOPAR chrome wheels with customized gold center caps and bright PT Cruiser graphics. "Visually, the Inca Gold monochromatic appearance unifies the Chrysler PT Cruiser's dramatic form," said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President of Design, Chrysler Group. "With its unique color-keyed grille, bumpers and body-side moldings, the vehicle takes on more of a customized look." Inside, a special plaque will be integrated into the instrument panel that reads, "Dream Cruiser, Series 1." The plaque also marks the number of the vehicle, 1 - 7,500, to indicate the sequence in which it was built as part of the limited edition Dream Cruiser production run. In addition, "Dream Cruiser" will be embroidered into the floor mats with matching Inca Gold thread. The same matching colored accents appear throughout the interior - - - on the instrument panel, including the passenger-side air bag door and instrument cluster bezel. Door bolsters are a matching gold grain vinyl. Seats are Dark Taupe and Light Pearl Beige with Inca Gold half-moon leather inserts. A unique textured leather, called Matrix leather, is used in the seat cushion, seat back inserts, steering wheel, and shift knob on automatic transmissions. |

Thanks CJ....YEP that's Sue's new wheels #1188 It does look pretty cool...not as much attention as the Cat but last weekend when we drove it on Saturday night every time we got out of it people were asking questions 3 tone interior looks great...one reason I liked it was the body color bumpers instead of the gray Very nice chrome plated 16" wheels on the right side of the dash is "PT Cruiser" in what Jay Harris calls "Cotton Candy" the others have it in chrome. Jay my daughter wants this for her's can you do it? I have some pictures of ours but having software problems with camera ------------------ |
