Anyone notice the inside of the gauge faces at the bottom? I noticed mine yesterday when doing a clean up. They have a white powder or flaking that appears to be the same color as the white face on the gauges. Anyone see that on theirs? The Kat has 39,500 miles on it now.

Fred,
I just cleaned the inside of my gauges a couple months ago. I just assumed that it was sand from when I took it to the beach. I took the clear lenses off each gauge and cleaned along the inside of the gauges and the inside of the lenses. For those that do attempt this, be careful with the pins that stick out on the gauges. They fall out very easily. Also be careful to not damage the needles.

I took mine ON the beach. Down in Daytona. The day that I start saying I can't do this and I can't do that with my Kat is the day I sell it and get a piece of art to hang on the wall. I bought mine to DRIVE IT not look at it. Besides I did look really good in the Kat on the beach. Girls were lined up for a ride down the beach and back.

Fred---To get to the main question of the post I have the same thing in mine. Noticed it some time ago but never worried about it because it hasn't built up any more. I think that it might have been some shavings left in when it was sealed and they finally settled out. It doesn't bother me enough to want to take it apart to get them out. I have to really look to see them and no one else has said anything yet.
