Sunday morning I had the Kat loaded with fuel, snax, and enough clothing to last a bum like me for a couple of weeks, when the timing was right, about sunrise, the orange Kat pulled onto the interstate and headed south....the idea being to get from Indiana to Road Atlanta(racing school) by nightfall.....well, I did have a very long delay planned in Nashville but that is another story.....I am constantly amazed at the sheer joy of DRIVING these cars long distances....every gas stop is an adventure, every food stop is an adventure.....you meet more people driving a Kat than any other car I have ever owned....the thrill of EVERYONES expressions as you sail past them on the roadway is priceless...you all know how it is, one person catches you in the mirror and then everyone turns around and looks....the stretch of I=65 coming into Chattanooga Tn. is possibly one of the most fun roads to drive I have ever been on.....mountain road, breath taking scenery, and enough lanes of traffic to keep the Kat skipping from side to side and the tires screaming thru the turns....windows down and the stereo cranking some good tunes....the world was RIGHT if only for a while....the "fat lady was singing".....if you have never experienced a long trip in your Kat, it is just about time to let the air out of the storage bag, burn the damned thing, and put the Kat on the road...summer is on the way...... life is short, but sweet if played right....drive 'em............................. ------------------ |

Tangled - Great piece of work! I've traveled many, many highway miles and can relate to the same story you have told. It amazes me the attention that the cat still gets out on the road. You would think that you must own the only Prowler on the road when traveling, the way people cling to the cat during road stops for gas and meals. I'm not complaining, its a thrill to have the attention, but sometimes people want to spend 30 minutes talking about the car when you have a distination to reach. Thanks for the MEMORIES ------------------ |

Larry B, that is a nice story... one that should be read a second time. Thanks for writing it. |
