This is a long story so I will try to keep it short... One of our new member Vegas-Steve made a deal this week for his new prowler in Terrell,Texas and flew in this morning on a red eye flight to pick up his new Inca-gold.. I meet him at DFW airport and we headed out to the Dealership about one hour drive from the airport ....we get to the dealership and the two prowlers they had where dirty, had over 200 miles and both had damage...NOT GOOD...
Also A thanks to Doug Baum GM ,Bill Gironda GSM and Neal our prowler Tech at Bankston we saved the day....

What a runaround way to do business. I'm not gonna dwell on that too much though. Steve from Vegas is a kewl guy and is now cruising across I30 west to I10 and enjoying every smile per mile. Steve's not a big guy, but boy was that chest pushed out there as soon as he stepped out of the Kat for the first time. I would like to THANK DavidN for all his time with Steve. I know that's what POA people are like. Also, Bob & CJ Longstreth. I interrupted them in the middle of a trip and like usual they came through in a pinch. The New Bankston Chrysler dealership was an awesome, huge facility, with a great staff. A very long day to say the least, but we know that Steve is now cruising down the highway and another fanatic is born. Thanks again for the chance to be involved.

Man, do I feel bad... I am the one who gave him the ad the dealership was running. I had a partner a few years back that loved trading with the dealership in Terrel. I guess things have changed. You guys went out of your way to help a "stranger". I am sure that vegas_steve will never forget the special people he met today and that it will make the Prowler even more special. David - was it another gold cat you guys found for Steve? Sounds like the same story a year ago, when I found MadMax his silver cat out in the Dallas suburbs = a complete rat of a cat. Dealer delivered in shoddy condition (too many things wrong to mention) and this cat finally made the lemon law list. I was totally embarrassed by the whole situation, never again unless I know the dealer is credible. Good job people!!! to all of you. ------------------ |

WOW... I can't believe it... the dealer part that is. I'm the one who turned Steve on to the prowler. Thank you ALL for helping Steve out. You guys are amazing!! I told Steve how great all the POA people are, but I don't think he really believed it until he started getting offers to meet, stay, help with his new Kat. I said it before... this is a great group here! Bob, CJ, PaulR, DavidN, again a BIG thanks!! You guys come to Vegas and dinner is on me!! MadMikey :{> ------------------ |

Good thing we got him on the road yesterday afternoon. We are now covered in ice & snow. Only 2 hours west of here is all clear. Cnote- I tried to catch Vegas Steve on I635 when he made his wrong turn. He was headed West at least he probably ended up in the right area. ------------------ |

Part I. Getting the Kat! This may set the record for the longest post in POA history! Guess I better get started. David picked me up at 7am at DFW in his new white T-Bird. Schweeeeeet ride; more about it later. We went to Randall Noe where I couldn't believe my eyes. One Prowler had 175 miles, nose scuffed, center-cap missing, and completely filthy outside and passengers seat had one-quarter inch dust on it. The other Kat had 225 miles and fiberglass damage. It was clean otherwise. I later found out that BOTH cars had been used in TWO PARADES! Also, both cars had dead batteries and had to be jumped. After taking the red-eye I was already tired and seeing these cars just about made me want to fly straight back to Vegas. David to the rescue! After leaving RN we left to get breakfast and re-group. David has a TON of experience buying/selling cars so I asked him to find another Kat in Dallas if possible. You should see him go! He works two phones at once and starts the ball rolling. Watching him work a good deal for me is like listening to Isaac Stern. Sweet music! He got Paul involved who also helped greatly. I'll try to keep this part of the story short because part II (the ride back to Vegas) will be lengthy. ANYWAY......I ended up with a Kat!! After leaving Bankston Chrysler (who I highly recommend; they are total professionals) we (David, Paul, and myself) made our way to a restaurant for lunch. Chris showed up a few minutes later. After lunch I left headed for Vegas around 3pm. It is impossible to say enough good things about David. He took me "under his wing" in Dallas and turned a crappy situation into a new Kat for me (yea Paul; my chest is still pushed out! ). David spent a whole day helping a total stranger; how great is that? He even ordered the bra & mudflaps for me. Neal (thanks buddy) and David put them on while I signed my life away. Many thanks to David, Paul, Bob & CJ, Neal, Chris and all the folks over at Bankston who treated me so well. Almost forgot; David's T-Bird is awesome. The hardtop was on and the ride was quiet & smooth. Really a sharp car and a head turner. Part II. Trip back to Vegas (the exciting stuff!! ). The Ugly: Randall Noe Dodge. Selling used & damaged cars as new. Run, do not walk away. Later All! ps David; MadMikey sez thanks for the cool shirt! |

Glad to hear it all worked out. Kudos to David, Paul & everyone who helped - what a great story about helping others. I assume the $9000 + markup disappeared in the final deal. Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

After reading your story, I have to say there was not a single surprise in the story, other than the first dealer really did you wrong. I am not surprised David and Paul went totally out of their way to help you. I am not surprised the weather in Texas was bad, but that is an entirely different nightmare. Finally, I think you came out smelling like a rose, since you wound up getting a Deep Candy in place of the gold. That is just my opinion, of course. There were only 300 produced and it is one of the better looking colors, for sure. In summary, you got a fabulous car, made some lifelong friends and will meet so many more Prowler owners that are great people in the future. Glad everything turned out for you. ------------------ |
