I'm curious if anyone has used one of those Motorcycle trailers behind a Prowler? One of the owners in my area suggested that last night and I had never thought of that one.. He say he has used them on one of his other cars before.. He is also into motorcycles.. Wondering if their any cheaper than the Prowler trailer which I always felt was over priced. ------------------ |

any small trailer less than 1000 LBS GVW and less than 100 LBS tongue weight would be OK. Bob of real rods pulled his HD on open trailer without a problem. One of the motorcycle/small car trailer would work ok to haul STUFF in just would not look as COOL I pulled my Prowler trailer behind my Goldwing I don't see why it wouldn't work in reverse LOL ------------------ This message has been edited by WildCat on 01-27-2002 at 07:41 PM |

Wild Cat, Do you have a picture of the Goldwing pulling the Prowler trailer? If so would like you to post a picture of it. |

David, yes I mean the enclosed kind. It was a thought that I hadn't considered... According to the Kat owner it would be plenty to hold clothes and such for trips... I know the Prowler trailer holds plenty for sure but I really don't need that much and a trailer would be nice for out of town trips. I'm going to see how much they run in price. Also anybody know what the trailer hitch runs? Is there any aftermarket ones? ------------------ |

Fred - trailer hitch with harness from Chrysler dealer is less than $250. I had broken weld on rear bumper brace so had that repaired and hitch installed at same time - another $200. Several have posted they installed themselves. Regarding motorcycle trailers, I researched on internet and found several that may have been acceptable/functional. Until I just ordered Prowler trailer (and I agree it is pricey) I was leaning towards buying a trailer from a street rod source that resembled the lines and looks of a 1930's street rod. The price was about half the Prowler trailer but came with standard rims - not chrome - and ready to paint. If you are interested, I will try to find info as I just filed it away about a week ago. Prwlyn, Trailers for motorcycles are pretty pricey, also. About $3000. The other option is rent one of those U-Haul small units. They are pretty sharp looking but unfortunately have the U Haul stickers all over them. Try www.Kruzertrailers.com. ------------------ This message has been edited by ed monahan on 01-27-2002 at 11:53 PM |

Thanks Ed, I found that site already and your right on price but the most expensive one is $3295.00. They start down in the $1200 range.. Here the best one I saw and of course it is the most expensive. The Grand Alexus:

DavidN, the pictured one is $3295. The $ 1400 one looks like a $ 1400 one. How many cubic feet in the Prowler trailer? ------------------ |

David, Ed is correct the one pictured is the $3285.00 trailer, I just thought it was sharp. I disagree with the statement about the $1,400 one though. In my opinion it is not a bad looking trailer at all. Another good site I found is http://www.cycle-mate.com/ and also the one Ed told me about...
The one pictured by Tom Cat is a trailer for a Trike and is wider than the motorcycle trailer.. I had not known that until he sent me a note with the info.. I think it looks good with the car.. His trailer was less than 50% of the Prowler trailer painted and ready to go... Works for me, I'm looking now.. ------------------ |

I pull the Zephyr Deluxe from Cycle-Mate - I think the E-mail address was on a previous reply - it's black with chrome wheels - the wing has the cyclops brake lite (LED) in it and you can just see the wing in the rear view with the top up - been to Detroit twice with it and no problems - don't even know it's there sometimes. Bought two years ago for 1800 - now I see they're 2195 - still worth it by me. OMO ------------------ |
