Workers at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant were notified that Prowler production will end Friday, February 15, 2002. Deep Candy Red is the final color and the final orders are scheduled for production, which resumes January 14, 2002. Deep Candy Red will be the lowest volume color. I know, I know, don't jump on me, Woodward and Black Tie were lower volume limited editions, but not unique colors. The current understanding is there will be approximately 300 Candy Red Prowlers. We have a list of all the existing dealer Prowler stock and where they are located. If anyone is having difficulty locating a color other than Candy Red, we will be happy to try to point you to a dealer. For some, this is a sad day....others will not feel that way. I, personally, have mixed emotions. However, I am so grateful that this wonderfully unique, exciting and fun car was ever built at all and I am so lucky to be a Prowler Owner. It has, and will continue to, provide me with the most fun I have ever had with a car. Prowleronline.com and the Prowler Owners Association and its members will go on and we will continue to make new friends, cruise new places and we will be the ones to keep the Prowler spirit alive!!! I told you! Nobody believed me when I posted this a long time ago. I knew this 6 months ago. It was confirmed at the last DC board meeting held not to long. I mentioned this in a thread that the first meeting in December this would be decided. BYE PROWLER..now..another press release I was waiting..a major autonews will release an article, that if all goes well there will be a run on prowler stock..sort of get it while you can... This should raise the value. ps. DC expects that orders for current available stock will jump once the news gets out. This message has been edited by SasyMama on 12-14-2001 at 10:48 AM |

This is real sad, One of the hottest cars out got the walking papers. All the real cars are gone at the DC now the PROWLER. Hey maybe GM will pick it up, BOB LUTZ is there? |

Certainly not unexpected. It should over time help the monetary value of the car however less people will be able to experience the FUN value. A bit of a sad day but I am certainly glad to have a couple and to still be able to drive them in mid-December. If this weather holds up, I will be delivering Christmas presents in the cat and the trailer ------------------ |

Even though we expected this, it is a shock to hear the end is near. Personally, the Prowler was a Plymouth so it died a long time ago for me. ------------------ |

Don't be too hasty... Based on sales & production through Nov. 30 2001, there's no shortage on inventory out there...

With only 300 Candy Reds, I'm sure the dealers will be asking outrageous prices. I hope that none of us feels that compelled to pay "stupid tax" and keep the prices high...the only way to make them sell at MSRP is for none of us to give into their plans.. Also, I can't wait to hear the stories!!I paid $5,000 over for my 2000 and MSRP for my 2001 so I got caught up in it in November of 1999...I won't do that again..and i just bought a new T Bird for MSRP so.. Good luck all... ------------------ |

There are "other" people who have known this information for quite sometime, but choose not to reveal it. Plans change constantly with issues like this and what you might think is correct one day, may not be the next. Now that DC has made their final decisions, it was time to announce it....which they did.....and I was given official go-ahead to announce it to you before it hit the press and for all we know, not everything has been announced yet! |

CJ, When will you be able to spill the beans on the rest? Gosh Darnit (not what I really said) I can see it now, they will end up producing a FEW with V8's or something we all have wanted. Then were all going to run to the dealer(well, some of us anyway) and try and get one. I see another over sticker Prowler in my future. I swore I would never do that again. Then try and sell the old one and get next to nothing for it. CJ are we able to order these reds direct from the plant avoiding the beating we would probably get at most dealers? ------------------ |

Only V8 I've heard of is the Howler which is purely in concept stage. Is there any way to get these Candy Reds pre markup? *sigh* I was hoping this wouldn't happen. I really need to hold off on buying one for at least a few months but if the Candy Red is going to be that limited and difficult to get I might have to suck it up. God I hope not. My wife would kill me. |

Most Respected Cable News Network (CJ), Is this the christmas surprise you promised? If it is, it's a fantastic Christmas! Thanks for sharing your rock solid scoop about the end of the Prowler as soon as you could. It's a bummer that YELLOW was produced more often than any other color, but let's face it..YELLOW is the C0OLEST!! Even if it's not worth as much or as rare as the Candy Red; just kidding!! In all honesty CJ, thanks for the scoop and Jack and I hope you are able to attend the Rocky Mountain High Rally this Summer in Denver! Jack hates Kats except this one, |

Guys.....the smilie face was only meant as a positive thing! I've been accused before of not using similies to indicate my tone of voice! Just trying to keep things upbeat! There are no changes being made to the Prowler except the color...Candy Red. A lot of people do and have done a lot of speculating, trying to read between the lines and starting and repeating rumors about the Prowler. My point by that last statement was that I have always waited until the FINAL decisions had been made regarding changes to the Prowler, colors, etc. I saw no sense in getting everyone riled up over things that may never come to pass. And there are things that didn't. There is a small number of people who actually make the final decisions and the decision as to the end of Prowler was just made....everything else is speculation and rumor! It only stands to reason, then, that if there is anything else they might say about the Prowler's demise, they would do it on their terms, when they were ready. I appreciate everyone's understanding and support since the beginning, of my decision to reveal information on the board only when it was appropriate. We have worked hard over time to provide all of you with accurate and timely information. We've tried to avoid the rumors and speculation and attempted to steer everyone towards accurate knowledge of the "life and times of the Prowler!" We will continue to support this board, of course, in any manner possible. I know that there are people who have not agreed with my "confidentiality" issues, but I know that I have walked through this process with my integrity intact and that has always been extremely important to me. Thanks! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Thank you Chrysler for making such a unique and wonderful car!! It will be missed, but I will stick to my -99 yellow and will love it forever, at the same time as people who has yet to find out that Prowler is thee car, will start to regret they didnīt get a new one while they had the chance!

Rare1, I agree with you 100 percent. Thank God Chryrsler had the guts to produce the car. It is without a doubt the coolest production (limited or otherwise) to ever roll off a line. Thanks Chrysler and thanks to Mike K for making this all possible. I hate to contradict CJ but I still think the dark green metallic is just around the corner. lol.

A BIG THANK YOU TO CHYRSLER-PLYMOUTH, for building this car. A BIG THANK YOU TO CJ, for providing us with information we may not otherwise timely get. Its sad it will end, but I thought it would after the 2000 model run. A BIG THANK YOU TO MIKE K. AND TONY G., for providing us one GREAT webiste to visit. A BIG THANK YOU TO THE PROWLER GODS, if they allow Mike K. to purchase the last Prowler off the assembly line Maybe, the last dozen off the line to overload his new garage and the battery tenders. A BIG THANK YOU TO DC, if they produce enough extra parts to keep my cat going for 30 more years!!! A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE POA ASSOCIATES, my life is more meaningful just knowing, chating, and cruising with you.

Eric............Bobkat's number is pretty close! Blue Tie.........you just don't give up do you? LOL!!! Re: purchasing the Candy Red through the plant...sorry, but no. All vehicles must be purchased through a franchised dealer, including employee sales. Chromer.........no, that was not the Christmas surprise..that is for tomorrow!! Not sure about the Rocky Mountain event. Ed........just think about it.......you now have the ONLY Dark Metallic Green Prowler!!! Besides, if you wait long enough, the last Prowler in stock should be moldy enough to pass for a Dark Metallic Green! C'mon, Mike.........there's plenty of dealer inventory out there yet........you shouldn't have any trouble filling up that new garage! |
