I know many of you are happy about the prowlers death but I am sad, I only have been around this site a year and I know we will all be here for years to come but its still sad to me. I was going to order more lifts for a few more cars and now what?? I need to go see my therapist...

I do not know how to feel right now.

One part is happy because the pipeline is shut off, there is a good chance that values will hold/potentially go up. We are throwing a little party in my office right now because of that aspect.

The other part is sad because it seems like it is a funeral. Candy Red is it. That's all folks!!!

However, I am leaving right now to see if I can put a deposit on a Candy Red, sight unseen. I don't care that the color isn't as appealing as the current red to me. I want one. If there was ever a perfect time to buy a Prowler, right now is it.

It's kind of ironic that probably the best marketing plan that DC has had with the Prowler is it's demise.

Hey Bobcat, don't feel so bad - in another year or so I probably could see my way to affording my second Kat. Now I don't know what the situation will be - if I'll be able to find a new one by then....

I know everybody is sad about the end of the prowler. I can understand this and feel it also. However the thing that I love most about my Kat is the fact that not everybody has one. The fact that I can go out for a Sunday drive and know the chances of me seeing another Kat on the road are slim to none. I know a few people that bought the PT Crusier when they first came out and were happy until every other person on the road had one. I know that this wouldn't happen with the prowler but it is along the same lines. I love the car but since the second year of production DC the only real big changes to the cat have been the colors. I know that there never were any "ground breaking" changes planed so let's end it in style with a new and great color and let the Kat go out like a champ not some punch drunk ex-champ. Let's all just be happy that we have one, some out there are lucky to have more then one.

Back in the mid 90s I had a 1/24 scale car on the wall in my office with a sign under it "IF YOUR BILL IS TO HIGH ITS ONLY BECAUSE ONE DAY I WILL OWN THIS CAR" well in Feb.01 I finally got a 99 with 3,000 miles. from that day to this I smile everyday. We have meet a lot of very nice prowler owners, thanks in part to Phil and Jane here in ca. and plan to continue trips-weekends and events with the prowler club.
I log in here at least twice a day and have e-mailed or purchased parts from a few of you, and feel I know you all by your first name
All this thanks to Plymouth, Chrysler and DC for the Love of my life My Blcak 1999 Prowler. I will wear her to my grave

How did I do it, I just searched alot of dealers and found the car I wanted:

00 Black, we had closed a large tractor sale and wanted a yellow, our first, and yellow was not avail. in the 00 brochure, it was May and black was avail so we bought a black for sticker. Could have got a yellow a few months later.

This spring found an 00 yellow with low miles and immaculate so we bought it from Woodhouse.

Then an 01 orange Plym. from the same dealer we bought the black.

Then the black tie #55 from Fury in St. Paul, Mn

We then found a new Woodward #143 from a dealer in Missourri.

A red 99 with 800 miles for $35k.

A silver 2000 with Real Rod Weekender, air patrol, mopar hitch, and side dump exh. with only 900 miles.

An 02 Inca Gold new from Junge in Iowa

A new Mulholland for $32k from a guy who won it at a casino.

A 97 purple new from an Ohio dealer, paid sticker from 97.

The Candy Red will be #11, I may get a yellow Chry. and possibly a silver or orange Chrys. The yellow would make 12 so I am sure I will stay at an even amount for lifts. We have 5 prowler trailers as well.

Good grief! =\ I'm still trying to get my first one. I would love a Purple but not sure I want a 99 over an 02 Candy Red. I would have one if not for the insane markups in Cali a few years ago. *sigh* I only hope finances are good come time a Candy Red rolls around.

I agree it is sort of a sad day. However, we knew it was unavoidable with the lack of DC promotion and the dealer price gouging. I now feel lucky to have the silver and orange in the garage.
By the way, which lifts are you using and what is the height requirement ?
See you in Colorado.
