who has vehicle insurance that covers the car and any work you've done to it, another words if you have a $46,000.00 car and you've put in additional $10,000.00 due they cover replacement equal to value, I know there is a company called gunde I beleive. I figure that someone would have to come out and appraise it but hey it would be worth it especially since I've put allot more than $10,000.00 into, and I am from Rhode island, please let me know what's what, again I am looking for replacement cost with the actual vehicle too! thanks, john |

Most insurance companies will do what you describe, a true stated value. |

Make sure your insurance agent knows what you have modified. Ask to see if it is covered. Keep the receipts to all modifications and if your regular policy does not cover it ask if they have one that will. If this does not work look into speciallty insurance that covers Hot Rods & Customs. |

I'm an insurance agent and I'd suggest that you ask your insurance agent to contact the claims department. Most agents do a fabulous job helping you acquire insurance but it is the claims department that will the settle loss. Coverage varies from company to company. For most companies, the coverage varies from state to state. I'd give my agent/company rep a list of modifications, including cost, and specifically ask how my car would be covered under the following circumstances: if the vehicle is stolen, vandalized, or total loss due to an accident. This will eliminate the guess work. |

Try Grundy Insurance collectors policy. They have the best price I've found to date and zero deductible. You tell them the value of the car and that's what the premium is based on. ------------------ |

I agree, try Grundy.I have them and they don't argue when there is a loss. They actually pay without protest. |
