I've been a long time fan of the Prowlers and am finally considering buying one. I would be using is as a daily driver for the most part, so I'm curious if you actual owners think this is a viable option. I live in Utah and have a jeep that I drive during the winter months, so the Prowler would be more of a "good weather" car. My two concerns are storage space (of which there is none as I have learned) and reliability. From everything I have read, there really isn't anything super exotic about the powertrain, do they have any common weak spots? Anything specific I should be looking for when looking at used Prowler? Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks |

The weak spots are the window regulators and the center caps. Fixes are available for both. Also a minor one is the transmission sensors which are a really simple, low cost fix and it is a common problem on all Chrysler cars, not the Prowler in particular. All in all they are pretty dependable cars. The front seat is plenty of storage if you are driving alone. If you have a passenger you could use a trailer or a week-ender type of carrier or a rack. What color are you looking for? Folks here will steer you straight. good luck in your search. |

Those sound fairly minor, so I guess I dont have much to worry about. I'm mechanically inclined and refuse to pay someone else to work on my cars, so it's nice to hear they are prone to problems. Ideal color choice for me would be purple or orange, but would pretty much take anything other than red or yellow. Anything else I should know about owning a Prowler? |

I drive mine as mush as possible between april and November.... I will likely hit the 100,000 mile mark this summer and the car has run great for 11 years now, changed the plugs once and they didn't even need to be replaced... This car has been a life changer for me... a wonderful experience.. |

Turbo224, I owned a Prowler for two and a half years and it was a daily driver for me and I encountered no problems using it in that manner. Took it to the golf course, grocery shopping and many other errands. You will get a lot of attention wherever you go with it, so be prepared. Enjoy owning and driving a very unique car. |

As Ed M. has noted no issues with driving the Prowler every day. When Chrysler developed these vehicles they had to pass all vehicle requirements of the time in all states, including Canada. The only thing I might add is it is a fold up convertible top, so prone to a bit of water drip when raining hard. Keep a rag handy to wipe the leather seats. Enjoy!! |

Turbo - Glad to hear you're considering joining the ownership club! I have owned mine for a year and a half and my smile is as wide as can be when driving it. One thing that may help if it's a daily/good weather driver is to install the hitch made for the Prowler. With a hitch you can keep a rack on the car to help carry stuff. Have fun & keep us posted on your search! |

I drove my Prowler for 5 1/2 years as daily driver. Yes, I had to use another vehicle to pick up someone with luggage at the airport and to haul more than the four bags of mulch I could fit in the front passenger seat but it was ALWAYS fun getting to drive I everyday! ------------------

I don't drive mine daily, but only because I live in London, and it's better to take the tube than to drive, but from Friday afternoon until Sunday night, the Prowler is all I use, over the past 9 months I have put about 6000KM on it So far I have found it to be a delight, yes it's true that storage space is at a premium, so the trade-off has been that now when I go shopping, I am a little more careful, and really ask myself "do I really need this item ?" before buying it ... all because I can't fit everything in the car |

Thank you all for the opinions. I've never even driven a Prowler, so I guess the logical first step is to find one to test drive. My options are buying a Prowler or a 2015 Scat Pack Challenger. One of those two options will be my next car. I will keep my Jeep as well for winter driving duties. |

If you use as a daily driver in five years the Challenger will just be another high mileage car that has depreciated away most of it's value. The Prowler will have held it's value much better and still have timeless styling. |

the challenger will be much more comfortable, waay bigger, and a lot more ordinary. The attention you get in the prowler is really fun, equal or more than that of supercars costing 10 times as much. |

I have had 5 Prowlers and still have 3. I also have a 2014 Challenger Shaker, 6 speed. I love driving the Challenger but you are comparing grapes and pineapples. Nothing in common except they are both cars and both a lot of fun to drive. As Marty said, the Prowler is holding its value, big time and might even appreciate in the future. the Challenger is much faster, louder and does get some thumbs ups but the Prowler is a very unique car. If you need a trunk or to haul 3 or 4 people, go for the Challenger otherwise definitely go for the Prowler. |

As a daily you will want one fitted with a wonder bar and standard tyres . My car was standard when I got it and ride was far too harsh . I put wonder bar on and changed tyres and now it's perfect. If mine was going to be a daily I would put the stock exhaust back on as my sweet thunders 24 are a little to loud for daily use. Wonderwebb |

I should comment since I actually drive my prowler as my regular daily car. I did have to replace the window regulators, and I do have a trailer and trailer hitch for when I need to haul things around. I don't drive the prowler in bad weather, especially snow and rain. This is mainly because I live in a dirt road and I don't want to scrape the mud off the aluminum frame. I really like the car, I think it's comfortable, and I enjoy driving it every day - it's really fun and people like seeing it on the road. I would highly recommended as a daily driver! I love mine and try to drive it a couple days a week during spring, summer & fall on good weather days. For somebody that has never driven a Prowler, a couple of cautionary things: (1) With the top up, there is a significant blind spot over the right shoulder due to small back window and convertible top, (2) Be careful of front end when parking at curbs as well as in/out of steep driveways, and (3) Be careful of the "Gawkers", I find that people drive more recklessly around the Prowler because they are gawking at the car instead of paying attention to their driving. |

The TCM is known to go bad. Not a matter of if, but when. And I don't know of anyone that can fix the TCM's in these cars. But I drove mine for awhile as a daily driver. Got so much attention the car made headlines across the globe due to a meth head thinking it was an alien. I'm sadly not making this up. |
