Although I've been dealing with theft these past couple of days, I've also come to know ibjeff (username on here). I've learned that he has been diagnosed with colon cancer.

He's the type of gent not to make a fuss of things and isn't into pitty parties. However, I thought it'd be nice if we all kept him in our thoughts and hearts as we're out cruising in our prowlers. He'll be laid up for a little bit but is in extreme high spirits.

He's got a lot of life left in him and he'll beat this.
Today he had no pain at all and was cheerful when I spoke with him.

We're with ya Jeff, you got this brother!

Jeff,
I just lifted you to the Father and asked for strength, encouragement, and healing. I am a 2 times cancer survivor and I pray that you too can soon say that you are a "survivor" as you beat this disease.
May God richly bless,
Andy

Jeff, I think it's so great that your prowler is giving you drive and motivation and a great attitude. Who knew a car could be so therapeutic? I'm enjoying watching it's transformation!

Update** I spoke with Jeff today and he remains in high spirits. The man is a tank I tell ya.
Despite the pain, (which he tells me there is none) he soldiers on. He sent me some photos today of his new hardtop he got for his prowler.
He has 12 more weeks of chemo.

Let's continue our wishes, prayers, and thoughts for IBJEFF!

A close neighbor with the same cancer sent me an update email just the other day......not something I wish to deal with. The chemo is as bad or worse than the actual cancer. Quote from my friend:

Hi Joyce,

You are one tough cookie. If there is anything we can do to help please have Marty contact us....we continue to pray for you to get well! All of this chemo sounds really terrible but I appreciate you being frank about your experience and appreciate the updates you provide.

Take care!
Your Friends,
Lou and Sharon

Subject: Update on chemo treatment
Date: Fri, 3 Jul 2015 15:56:49 -0500

Hi all,

Quick update. When I had chemo three weeks ago (8th) it did not go well. I ended up with gastroenteritis and colitis and chemo was stopped. Drove to Knoxville daily to get pumped up with fluids from Tennessee Cancer so I would not have to go in hospital. All of my minerals, electrolytes, etc. hit rock bottom. Usually takes about 4 or 5 hours. Marty is my driver and my patient companion sitting there for hours at a time. So grateful for that.

Met with my oncologist this past Wednesday. I’m back to normal on all of the minerals, etc. He wants to give me another week off chemo to be sure gut is healed.

Will begin chemo again July 14. Same schedule as before. Will get the oxaliplatin and the leucovorin on Tuesday and will wear the fanny pack with the 5-** home, returning on Thursday to have pump removed. The oxaliplatin causes extreme neuropathy in hands, feet and affects swallowing and taste. The 5-** is the one that tore up my stomach.

I have four treatments left and need to try and get them in. There is a time frame of about 6 months for the 12 treatments to be effective. Since I began in February, times running out. We are going to go for it. If I can’t handle it, there will be no more delays and doctor will stop the treatment. My cancer was stage 3 and 6 out of 12 lymph nodes captured were cancer active. Really need your prayers that I can get at least two more treatments in.

Thank you. Love you all.
