Got my wife an anniversary gift yesterday....02 T Bird..Picked it up last night. Red, with hard top...all options. First impressions...rides nice...enough power, comfortable....like the Prowler gets lots of lucks...seems to be a real car...but time will tell....Had one coming in at list at a major dealer....I was top of the list....Ford cut them off from any for a year...seems they were selling customer cars out the back door, for big profits, as they were coming in. The dealer that delivered the car had us sign a document from Ford stating we wouldn't sell the car for six months....Hoping to get back into a Prowler when candy apple comes out...still have 360 Modena and recently bought a 02 Z06...FAST CAR... ------------------ |

Congrats on the new Bird. I don't think it is any of Fords business or the dealers for that matter what you do with the car after you have paid for it. I would like to see someone challenge that agreement ------------------ |

I picked up a 2002 T-Bird from a small town dealer in Louisiana on 10/31 and the agreement thing had not come out yet. Of course Ford knows that they cannot enforce that agreement. They're just trying to keep the cars out of the hands of brokers. I was fortunate to pay MSRP and the prices that i was quoted were crazy..anywhere from $2500 over the $30,000 over..and..by the way..Ii plan on keeping mine. I bought it to use and drive. ------------------ |

Looks sweet, Was thinking about getting one myself. Was wondering what price you'll paid for it ! Thanks for the info. Saw a blue one when I purchased my Durango, loved it ! Was also wondering how it drives. Fredd ------------------ |

I parked next to one of these new T-bird, Prowler gets bettet attention. There is no performance in a the new T-bird. I love the critics... they say the V6 - 253 HP prowler engine is under power (should have had a V8), but the FORD T-bird V8 - 250 HP engine suits it fine? I don't understand it? ------------------ |

If I am not mistaken... isn't the interior the same as a Lincoln LS? This message has been edited by spoons on 11-27-2001 at 11:47 PM |

The interior styling looks pretty good but the rest of the car suffers from a bad case of "Ford" i.e.jellybean on wheels. JMO ------------------ Self-declared "Hopeless Car Junkie." |
