This sucks. I just got off the phone with Dan, and all the banners are gone. What a plain vanilla site this is turning into, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong Mike, I realize you are trying to accomodate everyone, but man. Dan is probably one the finest man I know, and to have a select few control what happens here,, well,, I think its just wrong. a very sad time,,,,,,,,, I guess I wasn't too far off about burning the books being next was I? ------------------ This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 11-18-2001 at 10:49 PM |

After all the work that Dan has put in making all these banners, I am really distressed to hear that. I really appreciated all the time and effort that Dan expended to make the banners, especially for those of us who do not know how to do that. I am truly sorry, Dan, that you felt the need to remove them. I would like to have mine back to use as I feel necessary. I agree with you 100% on this CJ. Dan please make them available for the people wishing to use them in their posts. You have put a tremendous amount of work into building them and there ain't nobody does it better. |

Well, let's see.......maybe I should start charging for my time and gas to run to the CAAP store and the museum for everyone. I could probably make some money on all the brochures I have provided for free (except shipping sometimes). And how about the Black Tee shirts, videos, cds, etc.? Not counting the trips to the Post Office to ship everything. And how about all the Friends certificates we've tracked down from other employees to give to 24 Prowler owners? I understand Dan's frustration when you put yourself out for people and then you are made to feel it's not appreciated. |

What can I say? I just emailed Dan this morning before I read this to tell him I couldn't figure out how to insert my new banner he just created. For the record, I, for one, really like the inclusion of banners. They make me feel like I am communicating more with a person than just text messaging on other forums. I cetainly miss them already. Prowleronline looks bare without them. I agree with JD - this sucks. Marty |

This sucks big time. I don't know what happened to cause Dan to remove all banners. He is a generous guy and I really appreciate what he did for me and the rest. I don't know if Dan got nasty E-mails or what. I sure hope not. Dan please bring them back. I sure would like to hear the rest of the story. |

Dan... buddy... while we never met (and that's the point), the banner's you provide for us all, and the few lucky ones who are skilled enough to make their own (like my pal Batt Cliff there), make this site the truly great site it is to make and meet new friends and laugh and share the good times with old friends. With the banners, you get a sense of the person, and that makes it a special form of communication, and YOU my friend are the man who makes this special feeling possible. ------------------ |
