What a great question! There has been a lot of talk and a lot of rumors/facts from all the members here on the board. I for one belive that the that Kat has used up it's nine lives in DC's eyes. With the dealers unable to move them like when they first came out and the shape of the economy, it doesn't look good for us Kat owners. Or it might be looking great if you figure that they will be worth more if there are no more built. Either way I for one think it might be time. Since they are making the Candy Red why not go out with a BANG!!!! A great color to end with. What does everybody else think? I know that there are a lot of members with "inside" knowledge, so fess up......what's going on? There is no way that DC could hope to keep this secret so you might as well let the Kat out of the bag, no pun intended. Voodoo |

Hi There are a few members of this board who work or have relations that work for DC. I am fortunate enough to have a slew of family members that work for DC. From cousins who push brooms to others that look down from the top. They don't even know what goes on from day to day in this ever changing world. I happen to know what's in store, but I choose just for this moment not to say anything, in hope for a change. Yes, I hope for a change. This will effect a lot of people in the Detroit Michigan area. I say, and I pray that things change and things get better for all at DC and especially those involved with the Prowler. It will be a sad day when, or maybe a happy day for some when you will hear. "Today, the last Prowler rolled off the assembly line, a farewell to an American dream car that became a reality for some. Sassy My-2¢ |

Well,,,,,,,,,,I hope they build 4,000 of the new Candy red and 3,000 more black - incase I decide I want another cat later. I only hope that its MikeK who gets to purchase the last cat off the production line. It will take its place in the Krehel Prowler Musuem in Houston, and I'll be able to dust them all everyday with my Calif. duster. Mike, my application is still first in line, right? |

When I bought 'Goldie' about two months aga, my salesman told me this was that last year they were going to make the Prowler. He said that in 2002 or 2003 the Howler would be for sale. But then, that is a salesman. I wouldn't put much faith in what he said. ------------------ |

Sunbird - I think your salesman knows JACK,,,,,,,, BTW - Welcome to the POA. I see you are a computer guru, great! Keep an eye out on Dan Pena and Cliff Watson. If they make any mistakes, let us know. I also know JACK, so I'll say nothing about the end of production |

Sunbird, don't put ANY faith in that salesman. The Howler will NEVER be built.....no plans for it to be built. |

Thanks for the welcome! Don't worry, I do't put much faith in what salemen say. They've got a job to do and do it the best they can, but most have that look on their face when they show you an engine like - "I memorized the words, but just what is that?" ------------------ |

quote: If that wasn't so funny, it would be sad!! I worked in the office at a dealership for a couple of years in Cincinnati. Something I will never do again!! Most of those guys are clueless! They aren't "car" people and to them it is just another job. It's a tough way to make a living! Especially when you have no passion for what you are doing. |

The the insight of the salesman, I got the word from the salesman that sold me my Kat that they were stopping production in 4 months.. That was back in Feb. 2000! I pulled into a dealership last summer to look at a Mulholand on the lot..The salesman, who informed me it a limited edition & was a great buy at $55,000, also asked if the model I had came with the bumper letters (shimmers). Most Chrysler salesman are truly Prowler challenged. ------------------ |
