Well the first part of my exhaust plans for the Kat is complete! Thanks to Don Ward (kozican) and his tech Steve, who did the welding I needed today. The Lakes Pipes are mounted! To me the pipes are just what the Kat needed for that Hot Rod look. Thanks again Don! This type of help and cooperation is what the POA is all about. I have a couple of finishing touches to do tomorrow and then I'll get some pictures up. ------------------ |

Don, just about all that is left is the Dunlop SP9000's and their next. Tell Steve, when he gets off vacation, the door edge stuff worked llike a charm. It really finished it all off great. Just yesterday and today I've gotten more comments about the "Side Pipes" from people than ever. One fellow came over to me at Albertson's and said "damn, I haven't seen Laker Pipes in years, I always thought they looked great!" Other comments were along the lines of "are they made for the car?" Anyway, thanks again... ------------------ |

Don & Fred, and lots of others-- The steet rod (or whatever is your special car) includes a most important component--the exhaust. This you'll understand. Before I had my own car I drove my mother's car. It was wonderful: a '57 Buick Special 2 door hardtop, white with red under the chrome strip with black and white interior. (It would be awesome to have it back now.) I added the aftermarket Olds-type spinner hubcaps. My folks never really knew were I drove it. We cruised Hollywood Boulevard and the early Bob's Big Boy drive-ins in the LA area and raced at night on the two mile piece of early freeway between Glendale and Pasadena (nobody used it at night except us). For six months after I went to college with my own car, a very lowered '54 98 Olds convertible with weed-sprayer exhaust, the Buick ran fine. Then suddenly everything disintegrated. The tranny went, engine parts went one by one in close succession, and finally my mother traded it off on, of course, a Chrysler. When the Chrysler dealer looked the Buick over, he asked about the Lakes plugs in front of the muffler, and she had no idea what he was talking about. She never new the fun we had roaring through the night in her Buick. ------------------ This message has been edited by catterumpus on 11-09-2001 at 07:46 PM |
