I insure with a New Jersey company (NJ highest rates in nation!)I've been averaging under 3K miles/year. I am due for renewal which currently is for 12 mos. I've talked to one other prowler owner about Collector Car Insurance. You stipulate a replacement value and limit your driving mileage to ie. under 3K / year. You get a Collector Car yellow triangular sticker for the windshield instead of the normal state inspection sticker. With the collector coverage you don't even have to go to inspection. Does anybody know a reputable insurance company that offers Collector Car insurance for a reasonable price? Thanks for any leads you may provide. ------------------ |

I use Grundy Insurance for all of my cars. Their rates are very reasonable and there's no limit on mileage, nor is there any deductible. Their web site is: http://www.grundy.com/ I've not heard about the yellow triangular sticker that replaces the inspection sticker. Does anyone have any more information about this? I know that in Texas you can get classic or antique car plates if the car is at least 25 years old and no inspection sticker is required. ------------------ |

NJDarryl, I'm not familiar with any real discount re. collector car status nor have I really persued it as I only pay $$550.00 per year for my Kat including trailer. That's with a $50.00 deductable comp & collision. My policies are with Nationwide Ins. and although I havn't priced any other companie's, I've found that N/W normally is lower than other companies coverage for coverage. Good luck ------------------ |

Keep in mind rates vary widely from state to state even with the same company. ------------------ |

Chubb is very good, I'm use them but I believe that you must have your other insurance with them.(Not positive however.) If you have a claim they're usually great, except they have stipulation where and when you can drive your car. i.e. no shopping, etc. Hagerty insurance is also quite good. |
