Last night, we moved the entire ProwlerOnline website over to a new server. The new server is considerably faster than the previous one and should make pages load faster and enhance the overall experience. This will be especially noticable to those of you with DSL and Cable connections to the internet. Please let us know if you should experience any problems. ------------------ |

If I might add...If you encounter anyone having difficulty getting to the site/board/etc. and they contact you via e-mail...please direct them to the new server. Chances are they WERE coming to the site using the IP ADDRESS, and they will be having significant...no, fatal problems trying to get here using the old IP ADDRESS. Simply have them change their bookmarks to dead http://www.prowleronline.com and not the IP ADDRESS. There is a fix in the works...I'm about to call Mike right now. ------------------ |

Strange thing is that the feature that is missing...is ALSO missing now on the test board...which means THEY did something!! Working on it!! ------------------ |

This is a brand new server and we were the first domain to go on it. I understand that they have been moving other sites up to our server especially in the last few hours. I am told that they will monitor the speed tomorrow and make necessary adjustments to speed things up if we are not satisfied. Please be patient until tomorrow afternoon and give them a chance to fine tune things before we judge the performance. I look forward to your opinions later today. ------------------ |

Mike & Tony, I am not complaining and not piling it on. I tried to post and it said they did not have anyone registered by that name. I tried again and got rejected (I am used to that, however) and then started over completely and it took the post. It seems to be herky-jerky at times also. Again, I am not complaining about it and I read to wait until tomorrow to give it a chance. I am not upset, just giving feedback in case others have had the same problem. I may not be around for awhile. They are coming to install Road Runner Cable tomorrow. Either it will be outstanding or I will be out standing in the cold. It seems to be working fairly well right now but there is not much webc activity at this time of night. ------------------ |

Mike & Tony I like ED was not complaining about things. I tryed to click on Tony's little address POA DF Admin on the bottom left of his last message, so I could let him know without posting it on this thread, what I was experiencing and it wouldn't open that site for me. I can't begin tothank you both for all you do for us. It is definatly faster this morning PK |

Seems faster for me Mike, I have DSL. Those glitches slow it down when they come up tho,, but when it runs smooth, its real fast. ------------------ |

Glad you made it there safely Tony! The keyboard is all a matter of what you're used to. I use my laptop 90% of the time and feel lost at a larger keyboard. 28.8?? Ugh! ------------------ |

Mike, I'm in at 56k and it is faster even at that connection speed. The thing will be what is it like as they add more domains to the server down the road. If your one of the first on it, it stands to reason it would be faster. By the way the mail is working fine now. ------------------ |

Fred, All the sites that were on our old server have been moved over to this new one now, so it's seeing the same load that it saw before and yielding about a 25-30% increase in speed. I'm quite pleased! Tony Goertz is still working out a problem with submitting to the Owners Registry and should have it solved shortly. Please keep us informed if anyone finds any other problems that we should know about. ------------------ |
