As I think about this coming winter season here in Ohio with the Prowler in the garage for an extended length of time, I have decided to have my front bumpers painted. I think that I can remove them ok and take them to the body shop. Do they know to use a special paint on these? I will have them paint to match my silver, and reinstall myself. Richard, Any body shop that paints new cars will use the correct process. They are plastic just like the bumper covers on all the new cars.

Richard, sorry it took so long to reply. I was having a LOT of computer problems. I had mine done at Carstar/Cheviot Auto Body. Jack Ellis is the owner. They charged me $200 to do all 4 bumpers, including clear coat. I took the bumpers off and took them in. It took about 4 days, I think. Cheviot Auto Body is on Harrison Ave. about 3 blocks from Andy's Drive Thru, about 4400 Harrison, near Glenmore. Let me know if you need help. |

I think that would look cool Rich. I have not yet seen a Silver with painted bumpers. That address is more like 3700 Harrison. ------------------ |

Richard - Someone at Woodward had a Silver with at least the rear bumpers painted. We were following a couple of cars back on one of the cruises. Sorry I do not remember whose car it was or if it had front bumpers. Maybe someone will read and can post a photo for you. They really looked good!! Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ |

Thanks Mike, "Good lookin' car" is right! All silvers are FABULOUS............................................... I think there were two silvers with painted bumpers at Woodward, didn't Brian from Canada cat have painted bumpers also? Doc - make sure they are clear coated, as I've seen afew just painted and they don't look good without the clear coat. I'd use Mohawk's place, as $200 for four is a real deal. ------------------ |

Nice pics, thanks. I think I will leave the rears black and only do the fronts. I have a Weekender, and the black bumpers contrast well with it. Richard ------------------ |
