I got a staple in my rear tire and I just recently moved to Hartford, CT. I took it to the local Plymouth dealer and they said they would not be able to fix it until Monday. I didn't really get the "warm and fuzzies" for the service depatment at that dealer. I went around the corner to the Goodyear shop and they said "we could try it, but it is like a 2 hour job and real bitch tring to break the side walls on those EMT run flats." "You'll have to come back Monday when our EMT tech is here."

The bad news is they may not be able to patch the tire because if both ends of the staple went in they can NOT put 2 patchs that close together. I may have to buy a new rear tire. The Goodyear warranty states 25% wear and/or 12 months, so thats out. Help me out guys.

Thanks for your advise Guys/Gals.

why not just plug em and deal with the patches or replacement later? I've run plugs for years in tires with no prob, even though your not supposed to plug the centermost part of the tread. OMO

Plug the holes using a high quality plug. I've plugged tires for decades; getting more than 50K miles on plugged tires. I'm a strong believer in plugging tires - but use good quality plugs, and do the job right.

1 - When pulling the object from the tire observe the angle of the puncture - most holes aren't straight in.
2 - Don't use the 'hole reamers' that are supplied with many plugging kits - why make the hole bigger than it already is.
3 - Dip the plugging tool in rubber cement and run it in and out of the hole several times, adding rubber cement each time - take care to follow the hole - don't create another hole.
4 - Put the plug into the plugging tool and dip the plug in rubber cement. Install plug.
5 - Don't plug sidewalls.
