Boy have I been gone for a while. Glad to see the place is still up and running. I've finally talked a Corvette owner into selling one of her cars to get a Prowler. We found a great cat in GA but the dealer won't ship up here. We have to get our own shipping!! Here's the question, anyone know of a good place for shipping from GA to MD? I have found an open transport for $650 and closed for $1200. Thanks in advance. ------------------ |

Contact Eric Lee at Latham Motors (just email him). He uses a shipper (his name is Mike) and he goes all over the U.S. He is really good. I was charged $850 for shipping from Idaho to Calif. He has a covered trailer. Eric posts on the site occasionally as Mr. Prowler... Helloooooooooooo Eric.. you awake? ------------------ This message has been edited by CWatsonJr on 08-30-2001 at 01:11 PM |

VT - How is Virginia Tech's football team going to be this year? Welcome back! The prices you quote are about right for the distance traveled. Just double check their proclaimed "insured" claims. Self insurance means you will wait for ever for nothing. Caution, is what I'm telling you. We are still here, come back more often GO BIG RED ------------------ |

Thanks for the advice AC. I'll pass the info along to my friend. As far as VT goes. I missed the game today since I was coming back from the beach. VT's rusher (Suggs), number one in the country last year, is out for the season. This would be kind of like the huksters losing Crouch and their top three rushers. I'm very sure VT would whip the corn hukster, but this season is going to be a up in the air. I can alway hope. Did watch the horry frog game and figured big red should have kicked there teeth in, but didn't. Might be a below average year for both of us. Maybe we'll meet you in a bowl and we can get together and give each other some good ribbing. GO HOKIES!!!!!! ------------------ |

I have 2 Kats. One I ship back and forth to Florida from CT, and have always used Inter-City Lines. They are in western Massachusetts (Warren), and have lots of husband and wife drivers, which seems to contribute to their ontime dependability. The are enclosed, which is the only way to go, and pretty reasonable. You should certainly be able to beat the prices mentioned in your post. As an aside, these guys haul most of the new Porsche cars in the eastern half of the country. I also recently shipped my other Kat from Florida to Seattle, enclosed. Many of the haulers didn't want the run because it's tough to get a full load, but an outfit called Passport took it. They are a subsidiary of Fedex, and were great. |

Jeff - You are probably right. We will probably meet at the Sun or Citrus Bowl, or is there one lower? Oh yea, Hula Bowl. Big Red looked awfully weak against TCU. Glad your back to the board. |

After a year and a couple of cruises we'd advise anybody to drive it home if you can. No car will ever stay virgin, and the cherry value is beside the point. Driving the Kat is where it's at. ------------------ |

Roadstar, You must be reading my mind. The Prowler I'm talking about is in GA and is on a Carmax lot. They won't ship to VA because of some strange rule about shipping out of state. I'm still scratching my head over it. Carmax did recommend someone who's price I quoted in my original post. Maybe I'll have to fly down and drive it back which seems to be the popular vote these days. ------------------ |

Larry, If VT does meet small red, I'll make sure I drive the Prowler out so I can rib you about your impending lose. Might be hard to drive to HA, so I'll have to fly out and give you a first hand account from the 50. Just got a report on Suggs, number one in 2000. Most likely out for the season. I have all my fingers crossed. Glad to be back and kicking. GO HOKIES!!!! ------------------ |

Jeff, I used Reliable transport (which handles the shipping of prowlers and vipers for chrysler) when I shipped it to Paxton for the supercharger and gears. More than happy with them. ------------------ |

If you decide to have it shipped make sure you go over every inch of the car when it comes off the trailer. It is too easy to be caught up in the excitement of the new car and miss little things. As soon as the truck leaves, you are on your own and SOL if you find something the next day. -Pete This message has been edited by HouTexan on 09-04-2001 at 04:37 PM |

Thanks for all the help. Brian, we went with Exotic Car Transport and boy what a setup they have. The eighteen wheeler was totally impressive. The cat was riding with two Lamborghinis, one Bentley, and a Viper. Trailer had hardwood floors and a great security system. My friend was completely impressed with the setup and delivery. First class rig and delivery. Thanks again. ------------------ |

VT, as in VA. TECH. I was confused at first, also. Home towns are listed under your name to the left of the post, if that helps you any. Even more perplexing is the fact that he seems to like Alley Cat, GO FIGURE. lol. |

BlackAMX, ED is correct. VT is Virginia Tech not Vermont. Sorry for the confusion. Ed that hurts. AC is a minor annoyance to VT's march to the national championship. Larry lives in the past, I live in the present and future. AC is a good guy, but his team isn't very good. ------------------ |

OMG> JEFF - the march to the national championship??? Lets not go that far with the HOKIES-DOKIES..............or are you talking about playing for the Division II championship? LOL We will see, as I watched the Fighing Irish get totally crushed by the Big Red, I thought with a smile about VT's day will come. Ed - why are you perplexed that VT Jeff likes me? We have football and Prowlers in common. BTW Ed, how are your Cincy Reds doing??? Bottom feeders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------ |

Larry, The Irish. That must have been a hard fought game, high school kids are hard to beat. Division II is for Big Red, I'm think of Division I. We do have Prowlers in common, but I wish Larry would wake up from his dream. GO HOKIES!!! ------------------ |

Dave - buy a BIG RED Prowler to add to your Mopar collection, and we'll be friends for life!!! Thanks for your support, and I really think VT has came a long ways in their football program in a short time. Of coarse when other schools copy the Nebraska program of success for over 40 years, they are bound to go up the ladder to the upper elite status!!! JMO |

Dave, I thought you had more sense than that. You have actually met Alley Cat and then ADMIT that you like him. lol. I will have to have a heart to heart talk with you this week-end. He reminds me on an old time movie star, ----------but I can't remember which Marx brother it is. Sasquatch, the Reds did have a pathetic year. Wait til next year. Seriously, they could be very good next year. They had a lot of serious injuries for long periods to good players this year. They picked up two more good hitters but the pitching has to get straightened out the rest of the way. I think the Bengals could beat SOME college football teams. They beat New England last week and people are talking Super Bowl. Give me a break. They will win 4 or 5 games, as usual. Univ. of Cincinnati's program is coming alive. Give them 3 or 4 years and they may be competitive again. Ever hear of the BIG RED MACHINE? Like Arnold said, "We'll be back" VT I apologize for lumping you in with AC. I should know better. lol. Did he tell you he is an unemployed pickpocket? After cutting off most of his fingers while pretending to be a butcher, he really hurt his chances of going back to his real avocation. It is sad to see. |
