Are your business. The only other tires I see people talking about other then the stockers are the Dunlops. Is there anything else out there?~runflat or not. ------------------ |

Well, the only other tires that I have come up with are the Dunlop 9000's in the 2 different sizes. There are other manufacturer's that make the tires in the rear size but not the front size and vice versa. For the price the Dunlop's are unbeat and the quality of the tires is top notch. The ride is also so much better than the factory tires. If you drive the car a lot stay with the run flats or if you are in a rural area (just for safety reasons). This is JMO, I have a cell phone and can call if I ever get in a situation where I need help due to tire problems so that is why I don't mind not having run flats. The Run Flats costs twice as much and wear twice as fast. Plus the Dunlop's look so much better. Chris ------------------ |

Do the Dunlops have the same profile, i.e. distance from the wheel to the ground? ------------------ |

Chris, Didn't you forget about the tires you sold me? The Goodyear Eagle HP Plus's. Same size and tread pattern, bur non-runflats. I did only buy the rears though. I love them AND they are a LOT cheaper than stock tires. ------------------ |

If those above links will not work: Click here and do a search for 295/40 20 for the rear and 225/45 17 for the front. I am looking for 315/30/20 for on the rear and I am going to put 245/40 17 tires on the front. I am going to replace the current tires with Goodyear non-runflats. My rears are just about gone and will probably be replaced within the next 2-3 months. ------------------ • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.1 With EGR Bypass Kit Future Mods: This message has been edited by William Gallagher on 09-13-2001 at 08:22 AM |

I don't kow if I was seeing straight, but it seemed the Dunlops I saw were almost twice as thick (profile) as the GoodYears. Is that true or was I just off on another trip? ------------------ |

Pirana is correct, BFG makes our sizes in a high quality, high speed rated, T/A series, non-run flat design, that I really like. Would be my first choice when that day comes to change. Save many $$$ over the rest. JMO ------------------ |

I take the lack of a response to my question to mean going with the Dunlops means not really having the same size tires as the original Good Years. This means the profile is changed along with a few other factors that should be considered before making a change. There are always positives and negatives in making such a change. The buyer should be fulley informed of changes to expect. ------------------ |

hey guy's well listen up here is the scoop on tire's, i have done enough research on this talking to all the tech's at goodyear, bfgoodrich, dunlop, falken, bridgestone etc. the dunlop's you can have stock size or go with 235/45/17 in the front. the 4 tires available with same tread dunlop sp9000's and bfgoodrich t/a's, kdw's and i beleive the goodyear hp's plus, the dunlop's look the best and will wear the best and also give you good overall performance, the kdw's are better dry but are noisier and don't wear as well, and sacrifice a little ride comfort! the t/a's and hp's are a good middle class tire not as good as the other two, the tire i would like to get and bridgestone doesn't know if they will be making with all these law-suits going on is the pole position-03, they make the front but not the rear, you want a kick-*** tire well this is rated as the best tire of all tires, in all survey's up against all kinds of tires in it's class, so as you can see, it's slim and thin. roll-on |
