Has anyone else read the very short review on the 2001 Chrysler Prowler in the October 2001 edition of Motor Trend? Not a very complimentary article. "Either you get it or you don't"..........Obviously, the gentleman that wrote the article "just doesn't get it". Maybe we all ought to write the magazine and tell them what we think of their article! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

I thought it was bad. I searched their website for the article to post here, but their site does not include October's articles as yet. I really didn't feel like typing the whole article, sorry! |

CJ Recieved my copy Saturday and was to #%&^*% off to say anything. Motortrend has written some pretty honest and flattering articles about the Prowler in the past and it seems they are just getting tired of the car. If that's the case why don't they just quit reviewing it? The only good thing they say is it is a great boulevard cruiser and get's lots of attention, DUH! They have said that in almost every story they have done. Move on MT. ------------------ |

Pauley.......I'd have to totally re-write the article to correct all their mistakes. It was a pretty disgusting article. I'd rather spend my time writing them a "why don't you get a life" letter....... |

I didn't like the article because 'they just don't get it' in evaluating the Prowler. Wasn't Motor Trend the magazine that gave the Chevrolet Caprice car of the year award in 1990? Enough said. Thanks for their email address - I sent them my opinion on their Prowler evaluation. |

MotorTrend's writers are a bunch of pansies that couldn't get out of a wet paper bag if they were doing photoshoot burnouts on top of it!! These are the same guys that think the Z06 Corvette is the greatest car in the World and that Hennessey's Viper has run a 9 second quarter mile pass when it hasn't. The fact is that Chrysler must not have greased the palm of the writer enough or not given him the car long enough so he could use it to impress his "girl of the week." I have built cars for magazines and if you pay the money and/or pay for the amenities, you get the ink. ------------------ |

Tell that to every second driver you pass on the street, as they just about come out their windows, they're so busy looking. I've had a number of exotic cars, but never one that gets the positive attention these do...and its been over 3 years! Motor Trend???Petersen Publishing (eMap)??? Now there's a bunch...if you follow the business news, you'd have read how they have pretty much run that thing into the ground....and they have problems with our prowler?! |

I agree the article was poor! On the bright side though, they got a 14.7x 1/4 mile time. I know they had tested a 99 quicker, but it's nice to know the car can turn 14's stock. The article had no effect on me getting one however. And if anything it may help keep the Prowler a rare and exotic car for years to come. Just think if they loved it to the point of ranting and raving about it. There would be that many more on the road!!!! Anyway I think you guys all know that Prowler owners are special. Not the typical sports car owner. Thats part of the reason there are so many used Prowlers out there. The status minded guys buy them, then just don't get it.... then they sell them. I personally am looking forward for my Vette lease to end and to get my cat!!!! ------------------ |
