Can anyone who has installed either Prowler Pro or G-Force gears tell me their experience in getting the best performance. Do you leave in drive or shift with autostick? If autostick, do you red line at 6500 RPM before shifting or shift short of redline? Has anyone tested at a track for true results. It sure is fun to hear it rev high before shifting, but feels a liitle flat at the top end of RPM range in both 1st and 2nd.

Happy Prowling

I tested this last year (stock with gears and exhaust only)and in 10 runs in each my best times were; stick-15.13, auto 15.08 with average runs of
stick-15.25, auto 15.32.
Now with the nos I start out in stick and go to auto b4 2nd gear.

Marty, I'll tell you my most embarrassing moment when using the auto stick. I down shifted into a toll plaza and forgot the car was in 1st. There was a car, think it was an older Rivera, leaving the next booth at the same time as me and it turned into a race. I forgot the car was in first and it bounced off the rev limiter a few times before I reacted. I was way back by then, but with reckless driving by weaving in and out, I got passed him. For my efforts, I got a thumbs down from him. He sure knew how to hurt a guy. While its not good to bounce the car off the limiter, its there to save the engine. Now coupled with a blower or nitrous, it could prove disasterous.

Butchee -I hadn't thought about the rev limiter, but it's good to know it is there to keep me from being stupid and blowing up the engine. For me it is just more fun to use autostick (REALLY wish I had 5 or six speed) At least it was some guy in an old buick instead good looking young lady in an M5, C5, or Rousch!!

BTW - Good luck on getting your cat back soon. I hope it was worth the wait. It is nice to read about someone trying a new approach for performance.

Al, Don't feel bad I've done the same thing at the strip. Here's another embarassing moment... I backed up at the strip after doing a burn out and decided to do one more. Only one problem, getting caught up in the moment and excitement I did the next burnout in reverse! OOPS
