Yesterday my brother in law, myself and a 2man and 2women crew raced in the Children's Miracle Network "Mini Grand Prix" here in Denver on the Pepsi Center grounds. The cars are mini grand prix, 3.5hp go carts. His company provided the car, we provided the crew, uniforms and drivers, (my brother law and I) and Mike and Judy Krehel provided some POA banners for the car and some shirts and hats that are going to some young children.
We had a great time although we were totally blown away by several teams that do this all the time and know all the tune and tweak secrets. In the first heat (20 laps) we started 13th and finished 6th. In the second heat we started 9th and finished 10th, and in the final heat we started 6th but stalled twice and were hit by another car that knocked the chain loose causing us to lose a lap. During each race we had to make two tire changes and one driver change and our pit crew kicked a$$, gaining us several positions on each stop. To bad all of our bad luck had to come in the final.
All in all a great day of fun for The Children's Miracle Network, Children's Hospital and the National Jewish Medical and Research Center.
Thanks to Alex who agreed to come out at 7:30 am to take pictures of the car and e-mail them to Mike in hopes that he can add these to this post when he recieves them.
Special thanks to Mike and Judy for Fedexing the banners, shirts and hats so quickly.

One guy even flipped his and was thrown out, thankfully he walked away.
My brother in law is really mad we didn't do better in the final but that's racing.

I'm glad Mike got the pics and posted them. My camera is so far advanced its taking pictures in August and dating them November, now thats what I call a futuristic camera.LOL
