As we posted on the "Tips" thread, I thought why not take it further and develop a "Prowler-Friendly" Dealership List. I know a few Florida folks that have had problems with dealerships while others have no problems, so why not put together a "recommended list of dealers (sorted by State) that help prowler owners" My nominee: Carmax These guys helped a couple of us on the bumper replacement issue while other dealerships would not. |

Thanks Joe. I was actually going to email you in the next couple of days to get that dealer's information. As an antithesis of this thread, I would like to post the name of a dealer to avoid: Autonation Chrysler Plymouth Jeep Avoid going to them for service. They had my car one day for almost three hours, and had I not asked why it was taking so long, would have been longer. Then the supposed "Prowler Tech" brought my car out and took it over the speed bumps doing about 30 mph and then got out and slammed the door. The window has been loose ever since. I will drive the extra 30 min to go to the Carmax dealership for service. Bill Gallagher This message has been edited by William Gallagher on 07-27-2001 at 01:14 PM |

Joe, now that is one FINE IDEA! I hope folks contribute. You need the tech's name and the dealer like you posted because the techs sometimes leave and then the situation turns sour even though the same dealer. |

Good points folks! I usually chat with my prowler-friendly dealership once a month to keep the repoire going, and to make sure my contacts are still there at the dealership. I also make it a point to "thank" them for the good service. Yes, I recommend Carmax for all work. They have a good group there in Orlando. They let me drive the car in and out of the service bay. I am so picky, I let no one drive my car. |

Here's a Don't use.........Grubbs-Plymouth-Chrysler-Jeep. on HWY 183 Bedford, Texas. In fact I will never ever recommend anyone do buisness with this dealership. Sales staff was great, but their service department Stinks! Absolutley no respect for the customer or the vehicle. They acted like I was enemy #1 and were very rude to me. Like I was taking up thier time by trying to get my Kat fixed. Took my complaint all the way to the Regional Manager, his response...... Leave the car there for another 3 or 4 days and we'll get someone to look at it. It took over 1 week to get the first appointment for them to tell me nothing was wrong.....and then wanted to keep the kat (parked outside of course) another 3 or 4 days!....NOT.....This was the heat problem.... (see fat mans thread) fixed it myself in no time, and no more problems. ------------------ |

If you happen to be in South Dakota or anywhere close and need service, Liberty Motors, the DC dealer in Rapid City, SD will treat you well. We bought our Kat there and have always been pleased. During the Crazy Horse Tour they did their best to help out everyone. Don Patnoe, the manager, promises that for the 2002 tour they well have the red carpet out for all of us. ------------------ |

For the list of good prowler dealers, i nominate: Buerge Chrysler Plymouth Jeep 11750 Santa Monica Boulevard West Los Angeles, CA 90025 Cross Streets: between Barrington and Bundy My technician: Jeremy Battat, if you go there tell him Daniel and Bijan Kianmahd referred you thanks. I needed to replace my bumper, which was they said was covered under warranty, and they recieved it in 2 days. The grey piece of the convertible latch broke and they got me a pair within a week. They also got me new weather stripping within 2 weeks. All of the labor and installations took 4 hours. - Danny ------------------ |

BKG is right about the Northern NJ service site. Another good one in the area is Hilltop in Summit. I've had nothing but great service there from very friendly people. Al, the service manager seems to know that anybody that buy's a Kat want's it taken care of and they do just that. Voodoo00 |

I really like the service (not sales) at the Crown CD in Fillmore, Ca. Bart is the Tech and he is great! The Service Manager and Bart will not let anyone else touch my car but the tech! I heard they are attempting to sell the dealership for $40m. If I could win the lottery, I could buy it and have the best darned dealership around! ------------------ |

Here is a link to Dan Peņa's Site that has all the info about STONERIDGE MOTORS, INC. I have found they are the best! They treat you with respect and do the job right. No fighting about weather it is covered. I have recommended others to them and they all are surprised at how nice they are treated. ------------------ |

here is an Avoid, Valencia Chrysler Jeep in Valencia, 23923 Creekside Road, Valencia California 661-259-8770 (the idiot service manager managed to cause to be ruined my Orange Prowler via leaving it outside, by back in the works) and Sutherlin Chrysler Jeep/Eagle (both Autonation dealerships!) 1000 Blairs Bridge Road, Lithia Springs, GA, 770-745-3800. These clowns SOLD me the Orange and KNEW it was a bad car in need of work. They told me is was the banks problem now and hung up when I called them the day it arrived and wanted a new car! The car had that many obvious problems! ------------------ |
