Guys, guys, guys....
If you are willing to wait another 30 years. Your kat might be worth a little more. That, if it is original.
Drive it and enjoy. Mine is one year old this month and has 21000 miles on it. Got it with 22 miles.
1990 ZR-1s are selling for 24000.00. Low milage and clean.
Original price $64,000.00. I know ,I had one for 8 years.
Sold it with 75000 miles on it.
Lesson: Enjoy the kat. Drive it!!!
Garage it for ever and loose a bundle of money with no fun.
Have fun,
Frank

Frank....

Your kat has 21K miles?
It looks better than showroom conditon, with that Zaino look. True, know that you have a rare car, but enjoy it anyway you like.

I'm sure everyone who owns a prowler has bought more expensive cars that depreciate just as any other car does (mercedes benz s class, bmw 740il, ...). the prowler is something we all love and the resale price might decrease by 10000 max in 2 years - thats wayyyyy better than those luxury sedans and suv's that we buy. People would give anything to drive one and some of you are planning to sell it so you can make a quick $5 or 10K, TOTALLY not worth it. I love my kat and i will never ever sell it...i'll pass it down to my children and theyll pass it down to their children, and so on....... - DANNY

No plans to sell mine ever! I may put in my will that whomever inherits it has to keep it or it passes to the next in line. With 6 kids and soon to be 13 grandkids it should stay in the family forever.

There is a 99 for sale for $32,500. Unless he paid only $42,500 for it new, he is loosing more then $10K. I'll bet he paid in the $50K range though. Prices are WAY down all across the country. I was looking at a DuPont Registry on a flight and any number of dealers have a boatload of them and are discounting them. In some cases, alot. One is selling a new Black Tie for $43K (sticker was around $48K)

- thats wayyyyy better than those luxury sedans and suv's that we buy.

No, it's really a factor of what dealers sell new ones for. Since most German dealers don't discount new vehicles, their prices are holding up better then car dealers that are discounting their cars $5-10K (new)

People would give anything to drive one

Some might. You either love it or hate it. I love them, my wife thinks they look horrible.

and some of you are planning to sell it so you can make a quick $5 or 10K,

I'm pretty sure there is no one in here that has bought a new one that is going to make even $1 dollar over what they paid for it much less $5K more.

TOTALLY not worth it. I love my kat and i will never ever sell it...i'll pass it down to my children and theyll pass it down to their children, and so on

While a nice concept, 2 to 3 generations from now, no one will know you and if they need the money or the price is right, it could be gone. Personally, anything I own is always for sale for the right price. Some things I still have cause I never got the right price or didn't try to hard to sell it. Odd as it may sound, material things just don't mean that much to me. Yes, I love toys and have a pile of them but, if someone else really wants it and has to have it and is willing to pay for it, well, it's gone and it's theirs.

There is a fight waiting to happen. Which kid gets it? Or do they share it? Not to bad if only a few but, when those 13 have kids and they get married, now you are dealing with 50 or 60 people. Who do you hire to keep track of the car? And what if they all move to different parts of the globe? Where does the car go? Is someone really going to ship it from NYC to Seattle to use it for their week? Who lost a week while it was in transit?
