I broke the left latch for the convertible top. The dealer ordered a pair of them for me and they were for the 01 chrysler prowler and they looked different than my original ones. My technician said it is because mine was an 01 plymouth and chrysler does not make plymouth parts anymore. Can anyone of you please help me get the plymouth part? the part number is: 4897884AA. ------------------ |

I too have the same problem. The dealer broke one and I broke the other. In any case, they ordered them as a warranty part. The cost is close to $300 each! They say that the little plastic part is not available separately. Wow! Scot ------------------ |

The right side was broken by my son back in '98. I just had it replaced under warranty, and now I have 1 black & 1 gray (plastic part of the) top latch. Your right, somewhere around $225 for 1 side. DC has got to be kidding on this little part. It reminds me of when I was in the Navy. A single wiper blade for the windshield of PHM-6 cost about $70. I went to the local auto parts store and bought an exact replacement for far less than $10. To bad there isn't another place to buy Prowler parts than DC dealerships. Lets see - how about Gurley-Leep outside of South Bend (IN)? They charged me $15 over list for the mud flaps (per each set). And you all ask me why I am loosing faith in Mopar. ------------------ |

I broke one of my latches and they replaced both of them with the all black free of charge. Its covered under the standard warranty...get your money back for sure. ------------------ |
