Top Up, Expressway Driving, Lousy Weather, Night Time, All events that present a real challenge in changing lanes while driving your CAT... You might want to make your life a whole lot less stressful and stick a couple of 3 inch blind spot mirrors over your side mirrors. I have them and can't live without them. If you get them, mount them on the outboard side of the mirrors as shown in these photo's... ------------------ Painted Bumpers~~Silver Pin Striping around Midline and Grill Edges~~Cracked Ice Shimmers~~Ceramic Brakes~~ |

Use them on my other vehicles, so will get them for the cat today. You are right, there are some big blindspots, thanks for reminding me. ------------------

Ted, I don't even see another lane for traffic in your pictures. lol. I put my blue dots in today. Thanks for posting your pictures and getting me back in gear. I thought there were two layers of plastic between the bulb and the outside lens. There isn't. I purchased the gear shift chrome bezel today but won't get it until Friday. How much did everyone pay for theirs? I paid about $115 but I thought last year it was much cheaper but I may be confused with the price of the taillights. What was the trick to removing the black bezel, something about a credit card in the driver's side toward the rear? Anyone recall what was the tricky part of it? While talking to the parts guy, I mentioned the chrome shifter. He told me he considered taking one off of a 300 for me but looked and it is listed as an option on the new car sticker so he could not do it. |

Hey Ed Just curious did you use a whole saw or spade bit?? ------------------ Painted Bumpers~~Silver Pin Striping around Midline and Grill Edges~~Cracked Ice Shimmers~~Ceramic Brakes~~ |

I guess it is a spade bit although I had never heard that term before. The first light didn't turn out great as I got carried away and used too much speed on the drill. I put a scratch on the lens but you can't see it unless you know it is there. I got a little smarter and the second one came out really good. The sealant I used was pretty messy and I got caught in a very sudden, very violent storm today and I did not seal them all the way. I have to apply more sealant and I am looking for Plan B. I don't know what Plan B is yet. Thanks again for posting the picture. That was the impetus for getting me moving and finally doing it after a year of pondering. It looks good but I don't know how it looks from a distance in the dark, due to the weather. Maybe tomorrow night. Your car looks very good. That must be tough in that Fla, weather. Up here we only get to use them 7 or 8 months of the year and we don't have nearly as severe sum. |

Ed - I'm glad you finally found your impetus to get that job finished. The scratch? I will find it and point out to everyone looking at your cat. Also, the big glob of silicone! I see that you don't get much severe sum in Cincy. If I find any excess sum on the way to Deadwood, I'll bring you sum! Payback for a week ago............ |
