When I fill the tank on my Kat it seems like the needle never reaches 'F' is this common? I'm thinking about having it checked out. |

This seems to be a common problem. I'm waiting for the last month of warranty to fix - maybe a good solution by then. The local Mopar parts guy said: don't count on it! Not a Prowler only problem, all DC products. Must be the supply vendor? |

Guys I have a question..... I've rented a couple 99' Cats and I know the fuel tank is small. Do the newer ones have a bigger tank by chance? ------------------ |

Frank, I believe they all have 12 gallon tank. I average 20 mpg pulling my trailer and running the air. More than enough fuel for the time I can sit in the car. ------------------ |

Thanks Todd and Larry..... the one I rented seemed to run out of gas quick. The top half would last a while, but the bottom would go quick..... no biggy though... I'm still getting one! PS Todd you have 3 ??? DAAAAMN...!!! ------------------ This message has been edited by C5 Frank on 08-07-2001 at 06:57 PM |

On trips the gas stops seem to match my needed Kidney breaks. I get about 23MPG pulling trailer. I think Wildcat has the Prolwer Pro gears which would account for the difference. ------------------ |

I put 11.8 gals of gas in my kat last night and the needle went over full. One thing I learned a long time ago though - when the pump clicks off - don't push it farther - it will come spilling out. ------------------ |

I love my little trip computer and it is just now starting to be accurate (5800 miles). I have found that I have to run it empty (not out of gas - gasp) to get the meter to to extend itself. It said I have about 2 miles to go... when I stopped for gas - that would be about right. Also, the station I was going to was only 1.61 a gal instead of 2.15 everywhere else - and it was an Exxon ------------------ |

They have Gas for $1.35 in Bakersfield! The local shell is $1.45 but the Chevron next to it is $1.55! ------------------ |

Todd - you MUST be talking about regular... I haven't seen Premium prices that low in a very long time! ------------------ |

of course Cliff... we have GOOD gas in California... unlike those back east with their Corn Gas... those here "can" use Regular just fine. I do suggest a splash of Marvel Mystery Oil into each tank, to keep the carbon off the valves, pistons and out of the expensive injector system. No point in spending another 30 cents a gallon when you don't have to. If you want to boost the octane, simply splash a 1/2 gallon of premium into the tank, mixed with regular, and you'll get a full octane point higher because of the mixture. Used that for years on one of my high compression Harley's. ------------------ |

Just got back from a happy 4 hour stay at the dealership...they say the fuel gauge problem was the result of a bad BCM (Body control Module). When the part comes in and it gets installed, I'll let you guys know if it fixed the problem. |

my gauge is being replaced under warranty next week for being inaccurate with filler parts to the gas tank. dc has a bulletin to dealers alerting them to this problem. |

not that surprising, I bet it is even cheaper in rural Mississippi, when I was through there, Gas was 30 cents less then the rest of the country! ------------------ |

Gas is cheap in SC also 87-$1.09 89-$1.16 93-$1.23. This is an off brand station. Cheap cheap cheap. |
