Was wondering what is the best way to jack up the cat, also what is the best product to clean the alumium on the under side of the cat, and how do the center caps on the rims come off? Oh here is the 4 question does it effect the low tire pressure sensor when you take the rims off to clean the car. Just want to say thanks ahead for all of your answers. ------------------ |

Hey now, I use the square rubber chunk located about 1' behind the front wheel on the frame to jack up the front. The rear, I use the frame just in front of the rear wheel. The center caps come off with a screwdriver, I use a large wide blade, stick it in the slot and twist or roll the screwdriver, do not pry it. Hope this helps ya....... ------------------ |

Jerry is right about the jack locations. On each side of the frame behind the front wheels you will feel a plastic block on the frame, this is the front lift point. On the rear the book says to lift where the triangle is on the frame in front of the rear wheels. I have a small floor jack to lift mine. There is a slot in the cap to remove it. A screwdriver will work to remove the center cap, BUT it might indent the cap. If you use a screwdriver try and wrap with rag so not to damage cap, OR just go to auto Parts store and buy a trim stick to remove them. They are about 7" long 3/4" wide and are rounded on the edges. Everyone that has got one say they are about $7 Your sensors are on the valve stems. It will not make any difference if you remove and clean the wheels. ------------------ |

When I changed my tires I had them lift with floor jacks the side of the car equally front and rear at the same time. Hope this helps and you are most welcome. ------------------ |

another front jack point is the frame member under the motor mounts. I've lifted both front wheels in one shot with a 4x4 spanning the two points with the jack in the middle. The manual shows these as lift points also. ------------------ |

No one answered the question about cleaning the frame. I am not going to answer it either. (since I don't know) Someone just posted about the best polish to use within the past few days. On the main page of this site in the upper right hand corner there is a search function. Type in frame polish. You will get an answer. |
