I thought no more than 2 hours. Boy was I wrong. Learned a lot. The only special tools were to disconnect the air condition lines. First time in my life we had to use a 16 and 18 mm sockets and wrenches, glad I was prepared. Still haven't removed the head but I think the top of the piston is hurt, one of the valves were sticking and gave use a low reading after the compression test when the car was warmed up but was fine when it was cold. For a moment I thought I dodged a bullit, NOT. Will proceed slowly and carefully thinking this deal out. Not sure to upgrade pistons and valves. When the car goes back together it will be perfect, the person that put the Paxton(not Paxton)in had a lot of stuff screwed up, a lot. Thanks ------------------ |

Hey now Gary, the dudes at Wiseco stated that they were very impressed with the pistons in these motors. The only three things they can improve on is weight, oil supply to the pin and move the top ring down a little, other than that, one hell of a cast piston.........you never said what happened to your motor or what you were doing when it broke..........you just a holdout on everything???? |
