A few weeks ago I posted that my rear deck lid appears to be out of alignment, or at least is being pulled up by the tension of the top. Called my local dealer in southern Connecticut, and he seemed a little confused. Wasn't sure whether to have me go to service, or the body shop. Anybody know if some kind of repair guideline exists from the factory on this subject? In the alternative, anybody know where the adjustment for this is?

I just re-did mine the other day. You notice the arc of the trunk is different the the arc of the lid, so you can only get them close. You are also limited to how far you can pull the lid down because of the lid being in line with the door.
I got my lid down lower by bringing the center latch down ( two bolts securing this) You have to also adjust the rubber snubbers on the trunk lid edge for height and tension. These just screw up and down. I was also able to lower the rear of the trunk by dropping the hinges a little.Keep fooling with it, you'll get it right.

Actually the problem is very likely the rear lower body panel is shimmed to high from the factory. I had the same problem on my 99. It looked like the arc of the trunk was different than the lid but acyually they are the same. It is just that the rear body panel is too high to align the lid to fit properly. I fixed mine. If you are interested email me and I will explain how to fix the problem. It is to lengthy to go into on the board.
