I am not a Prowler owner, my lovely wife CJ is. I have been interested in and supportive of the POA and its events. In addition, I have worked with people in the aftermarket to ensure that accessory and performance enhancement parts are available for interested owners. Sitting back and reading the various posts, as many visitors and members do, I need to express concern over what I observe. Many registered members and non-members that simply monitor for information would simply go away without comment when faced with growing controversy. It was my understanding that this board was established to escape exactly what seems to be occuring at the present time. What is going on here?
quote: Since when is it a privilege and not a RIGHT (as a public forum) to post on this board? Blacklisting? There was also an apology to the person this was directed to, but the point is............should it ever have been said in the first place? Is this site being monitored and decisions being made as to who is "given" the right to post? I think we all hope not. If memory serves me correctly, this board was graciously provided by Mike K. and Tony Goertz for the enjoyment of all, which was simply missing from the other site. It has grown to over 500 registered members (and who knows how many observers). It has conducted a number of successful events with many others planned and proposed for the future. Is it time for everyone to take a deep breath of fresh air and re-direct the efforts and comments back to unifying broad-based subjects? The club is reaching the point where certain people are beginning to pay attention to it. These people make the decisions as to whether or not to support club activities. It has been together for less than a year and had to establish a presence and credibility before any thought could be given to broader support. Let's not get off the track and destroy the progress that has already been made. Just my opinion, but the path being taken appears to be a formula destined for possible disaster. If this means I am blacklisted, please advise how I will know and whether or not I have the privilege to post my opinions. RPL |

I agree 100%... anyone can and should be able to post and read these forums... there is always an "a**" in the crowd... but whoever said that quote (which I did not see) is totally in the wrong. This is what attracted me to this board in the 1st place... the seeming absence of any bias. Leave this for what it is... about the Prowler, nothing more. As far as I'm concerned... not only are you welcome here... I would love to read more postings from you! ------------------ |

Thanks RPL, Words of wisdom. You are correct when you say that this board was created to escape censorship and bullying that was taking place on the previous site. My hope is that all involved in the POA will try to keep in mind the fact that WE are the POA. WE are all equal and WE are the people who will determine the direction WE take. The POA should not be about personal agendas! ------------------ |

RPL- I don't think anyone could have said it better. Anyone should be able to post when & WHEREVER they want! If they want sensorship... you could probably count most if not ALL of us gone! If committees are formed, let it be known to all, so that WE the POA can make our own decisions instead of having our decisions made for us! I like Larry Lord have enjoyed some GREAT times, moments and fun among all the participants. Let's cut out the cr@p and get back to what we started... Thank you Mike K and Tony for providing this wonderful place to vent, have fun and above all speak our peace WITHOUT SENSORSHIP! JOMO ------------------ |

I have talked to all of the Committee members and my suggestion to them is to take myself off the PODRA(PDRA)Committee. So be it. I truly apologize to Superdanthegarageman for the post in question, no excuses on my behalf, I was totally out of line and over the top. Again, I apologize to Superdanthegarageman and truly sorry for any hardship to him or to the people on the board. Gary Cleverley |

Thanks RPL, I agree also. If I have ever been out of line, I wish someone would let me know. I enjoy the site and many thanks to Tony and Mike. I look to other owners for intrest, support and advice. We can all join in and not only have fun, but to learn from each others experiances. I learn a lot from this group and have recieved lots of help even. Again, Thanks....and your right!!! Don |

Bob ... As you may or may not know, I was one of the catalysts for Mike taking this HUGE step and monumentous task of creating a place where fellow Prowler owners could chat, discuss and even argue openly without censorship on any and ALL topics. I was repeatedly banned, black listed and threatened by the folks at the PPC web site. Heck, I even had to resort to alias' (Moe, Larry, Curly, Barny & my favorite: Otis) just to participate in worthwhile discussions. Since the creation of the POA, I have never looked back - figure it is THEIR loss and NOT mine. I did not see the post you reference, but can only assume it was under this new PODRA heading. I don't even look there. Not a racer, and not interested in getting all worked up over who has the most money to dump into a Hot Rod and turn it into a Race Car. By no means is this meant to offend anyone, I own a different car for the purpose of speed and handling, and my Prowler was purchased for pure "look at me" cruising enjoyment. But, to each their own and more power to everyone who has been fortunate to own a Prowler. Your post was very timely, as even I have felt attacked on this board, as well, but have just faded back into the wood work and re-emerged only when the oppinionated ones (like myself) have turned their attention to criticizing someone else. All in all, the POA site is EXCEPTIONAL and a wonderful haven for all us car enthusiasts ... and again, my driving gloves off to Mr. Krehel and Mr. Goetz for their mutual cooperation and continued support and fundng of this FREE experience for us all. My moto has always been; Differet strokes for different folks ... I hope everyone has a safe and reflective Easter weekend ... Prowl On !! ------------------ |

Here are some comments I extracted from my post on another thread: I believe that we all have our Prowlers because WE wanted them. What were the reasons you purchased your Prowler? 1. It was the coolest looking car around Please, let us not lose sight of the original purpose for the Prowler Owners Association and this board. This group was started so that we could meet other Prowler owners, share information, stories, opinions, laughter and humor without fear of censorship and repercussion. It was to provide an opportunity to organize small and large events for the purpose of meeting other owners and enjoying the car. We should be trying to inspire other people to purchase a cat and join in the fun whether it be cruising or racing!!! It is why we have no officers, etc. No one person or persons opinions are more important than anyone elses, nor should they be. Nor do we want to alienate those people who frequent this board whether they have a Prowler or not. Having a Prowler is not a requirement to participate on this board. Come on, everyone, let's get back to the business at hand.......having too much fun with the coolest car on earth and the people who own them!!! Just my thoughts and thank you for a place to voice them! ------------------ |

Spent about an hour on the phone today with Alex from colorado who posted yesterday about buying a new sparkle orange. Last time we talked he was headed to the dealer to pick up his new car. Look forward to meeting him and sharing any tips and info. He commented he couldn't believe the response he recieved from everyone on the site. ------------------ |

Ok everyone. It's obvious that the PODRA is not going to work because everyone continues to agree to disagree. I formed the POA to be fun. This topic is no longer in the best interest of anyone. I am saddened by the controversy and discontent that has surrounded this issue. In Gary's defense, he tried to get everyone that was interested in drag racing to agree upon some guidelines that would make it fair for everyone and would take away any arguments. It obviously is not working. Effective today, I am removing the PODRA forums due to lack of interest and for the betterment of all involved. Let's drop this subject for now and move on. Please feel free to email me your comments, in the mean time let's get back to having fun!!!!! ------------------ |
