I went to my local dealership yesterday to inquire about purchasing a hood badge off the 2001 Chrysler Prowler to use as the basis of creating my custom hood badge with the Prowler cat on it instead of the Chrysler logo. My girlfriend and I first went to the parts department and asked about it. They did not have any idea of what I was talking about when I insisted on one from a Chrysler Prowler and not Plymouth Prowler. So I just figured that the new car parts were not in the system yet. So we went into the showroom to see if maybe they had one on the floor. I was approached by a salesperson and I then asked if they knew when they would receive a Chysler Prowler. When that person didn't know what I meant by Chrylser, she then went and asked what I think were the sales managers (!?!). They approached me and asked what I was talking about. I would normally leave a card and ask them to call me when they got one in, but instead just politely thanked them for their help and left. My girlfriend just shook her head and said, "It's sad that these people work for Chrysler and don't even know what the hell it is." Is this just a situation that the dealerships haven't been informed yet or is this dealer just simply ignorant? These people didn't have a clue. And after the way my car was handled by their "Prowler Techs" the last time (and only time) it was brought in for service, I don't think I will be returning. I just want to know what you think about them not knowing. Thanks. Bill Gallagher This message has been edited by William Gallagher on 02-18-2001 at 08:37 AM |

Bill - Customer service, finance department, and product knowledge are the keys to a successful dealership. Seems this one has two strikes against them. JMO ------------------

Not surprised at all...most dealerships only see one of these cars every year or so...they sell everything else in quantity, and concentrate their efforts there...why should they know everything about a car they can't even get to sell....local dealer has not been able to get a Prowler since the one I bought over 2 years ago...why should they "keep on top of it"...DC will not ship a car to them anyway......they have a Prowler and Viper Tech, are a 5 star dealer and can't get anything to sell for 2 years...I wouldn't waste my time keeping up on the Prowlers either.... ------------------ |
