Can anyone tell me where the Vin# is defined. Somewhere I have seen a explanation of each digit?

In the Front of the Service Manual
Position Interpretation Description
1 Country of Origin. 1 = USA
2 Make. P = Plymouth
3 Vehicle Type. 3 = Pass Car
4 Other. E = Active driver & Pass airbag
5 Car Line. W = Plymouth Prowler
6 Series. 6 = Sport
7 Body Style. 5 = Convertible
8 Engines. F= 3.5L (97) G = 3.5L
9 Check Digit. resevered
10 Model Year. V = 97, X = 99, Y=00 etc
11 Plant. V = Conner Ave
12-17 Sequence #. 6 digit assigned by plant

PS - Has any one seen a "Chrysler" Prowler. I would like to see the changes to digit 2 and 5 ?
