On the black 2000 models, were the chrome rims and "accessory" item, or were these standard items on this color this year? Anyone know the answer and if it is standard, how do I proove it? |

99 the wheels were an option, now they are standard equipment, 2000's and up. |

Todd, The best proof would be to show someone a window sticker, but try this link and your proof is near the bottom of the standard features list. It says, Wheels, chrome ------------------ |

ALL BLACK PROWLERS, Regardless of year, have chrome wheels.....some purple 99 Kats and some 99 Yellow Kats had the painted....chrome started appearing on the 99 yellows...all 99 blacks had them and I believe all the 99 reds did too....but in short, all black Kats have them...I have owned both a 99 black (ONE OF THE FIRST ONES SHIPPED)and a 2000 black.....Y2K YELO x 4 |

Todd - Chrome wheels on the 2000s and up are standard equipment. If you have the 2000 Plymouth Prowler catalog, standard equipment is listed on page 29. Chrome wheels were optional on the 1999s, but to the best of our knowledge, ALL the 1999 Black Prowlers were built with the chrome wheels. Since this is not a dealer/consumer ordered car, DC chose to build all the black 99s with the chrome wheels. Hope that helps. |

Thanks everyone, it sure did help. My dealer charged me over $1500 in extras, but the car is stock! He is not going to be to happy when I demand my $ back. |

Good luck Todd, If deal is done then he probably will not give anything back, buyer beware deal. The black cars were the 1st to get the chrome wheels. All after the start of black had chrome wheels. Most did show the wheels being a 1,000 option but as CJ stated the cars could not be ordered. They also charged 1,000 for the color other than Purple. My Yellow had painted wheels but I had additional $1,000 charge due to color $40,000 list + the grand for total $41,000 All cars other than purple had the 1,000 for paint and 1,000 for chrome and window sticker at $42,000. this was for the early `99's Larry I sent my wheels out to be chromed and spent the grand +, and the wheels were gone for 5 weeks This message has been edited by WildCat on 12-02-2000 at 10:20 AM |

Todd - let me clarify a bit more. The sticker from my 1999 shows the chrome wheels as being an option for $1,000. However, DC built them all with the chrome wheels, so you didn't have a choice but to be charged the option cost for them. Which was okay, since I love them anyway. Don't think black would be the same without them!! Guess DC didn't think so either!  Check your monroni label to be sure whether they were listed as standard or as an option. |
