you people will chuckle but one of the best looking street machines ever is a '79 T-top Dodge Aspen with a 1970 340 bored and stroked engine with nitrous and wheelie bars and 4:56 rear end (tried a 5:11 but learned that was a mistake). Completely tricked out paint job, oil/tach/fuel/nitrous gauges in front of the windshield. High 9's in the quarter at Union Grove. For those of you who know Dukes on Harlem Avenue, yes, this is the sparkle medium blue Aspen you've seen. In Hotrod magazine, 1st place '85 in modified street legal machines at McCormick Place's Hotrod Show (lost 1 point for "old" looking stock tail light covers). This lil ole dust covered Dodge Aspen has slept in the garage for 14 years. Waiting for jr. to become legal driving age, and also waiting for the blown '79 Trans Am "Flirtin With Disaster" from Marquette Park to try, try and try again to beat the lil old Dodge Aspen from Chicago. After all, shouldn't a 6.6 blown Trans Am be able to beat a Dodge Aspen???? Go MOPAR!!!

NightProwler....Marquette Park?? I grew up not 5 buildings away from there and spent nearly every minute of my summer life at that park as kid. Funny to read someone mention a place I knew every inch of as a kid. Talk about a dramatically changed neighborhood since the '50-60's! I don't speak Farsi, Spanish, Hindi, or Lithuanian but you'd have to be fluent in one of those now to get along in that neighborhood.

Paul, I used to cruise the west side of the park with the guys, and the east side with the girlfriend. Sometimes bucket seats are the last thing you want in your car. But T-tops can solve that problem sometimes.
