Has, anyone experienced a problem with the low tire light illuminating but tire pressures are ok? Is this something that can be resolved with out taking it back to the dealer? |

Yes, Dave, I have had it happen a couple of times. Tires are never low after checking. I just turn the car off, wait a minute and restart the car. Not really sure why it does that. If it keeps happening, let me know and I will contact the tech.  |

CJ, I appreciate the help. Yesterday it came on while driving home. I shut the car off and then restarted the engine, after a few miles down the road it came on again. It seems that it takes a short period of time but still comes back on after shutting the ignition off. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave |

Mine does the same thing. You need the tech DBRIII diag computer to determine which sensor is not working. When you turn the key off, you are resetting the "receiver". Then once the vehicle reaches ~15-20 MPH(don't know the exact speed) the sensors are activated and transmit to the receiver. There is a weighed switch in the sensor that activates from the centrifugal force of the wheel turning. The sensors can also be activated by placing a magnet arround the valve stem. For now - I just check the tire pressure. Will have it corrected during hibernation. |

Dave - I would have dealer tech. tell you which sensor is acting up, and then take to Goodyear store or Discount Tire store for fix. Goodyear pays everything for first year on flats and ETM fixes, I believe. Call their 800# for customer service, in your book. Hope that helps. ------------------ |

Dave, from our tech advisor: The Low Tire Pressure System (LPTS) operates like this: Light flashing slowly and a single tone means a sensor indicates a low pressure. Light flashing faster and continuous tone means a sensor indicates a critical low pressure. A continous light means a system failure. A DRBIII diagnostic tool will be able to tell which transmitter (in wheels) or the receiver (on I/P is not working properly. |

I had the same problem about 7 months ago. I increased the tire pressure just 1 lb (29lbs) and never had the problem again. |

This has happend a number of times on my 2000 cat. Comes and goes with proper inflation. I don't want my tires pulled off. Not looking forward to balancing problems. I'm just going to leave it alone. As stated above we only have air loss of the light blinks. ------------------ |

Take your car to the Dealer , have them run the DRB 111 ,if there not showing a problem and all tires are properly inflated ,try and get them to replace the low tire senor module. It is located under the dash pad, this should be covered under warranty. I have had to replace a couple of these for intermittenly showing problems that don't exist. Prowler tech |

Thanks to all for the information. The dealer found the bad sensor and it is going to be replaced. In addition they are going to replace both front wheels because of the chrome. |
