Some of us have had rattles and have quieted them down. I think it would help others if we posted some of the rattles and how we fixed them. Mine were very simple. I had two very annoying rattles. The first one was behind me. I thought it must be the suspension or something loose under the car. I found the cure was to just strap the top down tightly with the ties. The sound totally stopped. The second one seemed to come from the passenger side door when I went over hard bumps or potholes. I heard a very loud clunk. I figured I would have to take apart the door and find the solenoid that opened the door or the power window motor shifting when I was under extreme bumping. Guess what. I found it was the glove compartment shifting on its piano hinges from one side to the other making the clunking sound. I lubed it, but it didn't seem to fix it. Then I just bent it back and forth till it sort of jams itself in place and can not move when the glove compartment is closed. End of story…. I now have no clunks or rattles no matter how many bumps I go over. |

My only rattle is the Air Patrol - real bad at low speeds, ok at high speeds. Have adjusted it twice, but is still real loose fitting. Can slide one and one half inches back and forth. Driving me nuts, any ideas? ------------------ |

This is a good idea! Is there a way to archive everything once the topic dries up? I do not know much about websites but have seen some other user groups do this? Just an idea. I don't have rattles yet but am afraid that when they come I will not remember all these "fixes" and will not be able to find all this good advice! ------------------ |

There was one annoying "clunk" coming from the back of the passenger door. Looked everywhere, touched and hold all panels and could not find it. Until I touched the seatbelt clip, it was rubbing against the rear quarter panel! Duh! ------------------ |

Carl - no problem, just ask on discussion board forum, and you should get a answer. Or could go back thru months of posts looking. Takes too much time to do that. Just ask, much faster. Getting any attention in that new silver cat? |
