Some of you know I was a Moderator for a discussion forum using the same format as this one for 3 years. It was for Slot Cars. Because of the over abundance of having a fun time on the General Discussion it got a little diluted(not my words). I know I am a major player in having too much fun on the discussion forum. I told my friend who was in charge of the Website that we needed something to help this(my) problem. So I came up with the name of the new forum: What do you all think and be nice? |

This room will be used for light banter and fun place to be posting. Maybe we will call it The Romper Room, The Amusement Park, etc, etc, give us some ideas. |

I like Romper Room, since we're all kids at heart anyway... Gary, does this mean we have to play nice? Can we still tell everyone what kind of evil, nasty, devious and dastardly person you really are, or can we only do that in da Romper Room? or are our true words and affections for you permitted everywhere? |

I was somewhat against doing the Flame Pit area when Gary first suggested it, but now I would somewhat agree with Gary. If you got a problem or a bone to pick, take it to the Flame Pit! Maybe we will try it and for a few weeks and see what everone thinks about continuing it. Let's here your thoughts... ------------------ |

Maybe it should be called "Let's All Bash the PPC" and have it only contain anything pertaining to any disagreements between the POA and PPC. That way I will no longer have to read all of the crap that I am SSSOOOOoooo tired of hearing. ------------------ |

Larry, I in no way suggested that anyone be bashed!!!! I simply stated that I don't feel the general discussion area is the place to vent frustrations or bruise egos. Gary may have a valid suggestion to move this sort of negative posting out of view of all Prowler enthusiasts that frequent this area of the board. If anyone has a problem with the direction a thread is going "we" (meaning anyone that is offended), simply ask them to take it to the Flame Pit area. ------------------ |

Let me correct myself, the new forum should be called,"Off topic forum", I use to like the Flame Pit but seeing that we are all adults here and all have great taste, like owning Prowlers, the more mature route would be "The Off Topic Forum". The forum would be used for Nascar, Lawn mowers or Team CJ against Team Gary C discussions, bantering or just some good old clean anything. We really need for the new people coming to the Board see that we are serious about our Cars and to have a place where the we can let the good times roll. thanks |

Mike, Please re-read the second line of my post and you will see that I am in complete agreement with you. I am extremely tired of reading these things also. I would love to have them put somewhere that I don't have to see them every day. I know that it would help my attitude a lot to see many more positive posts in the forum. Sorry if I'm a little irritable,,,it's now well past midnight and I'm still at work. Been taking care of Prowler stuff for the last 4 hours and I still need to get some work done. Tomorrow is the Riverside show and Go. I need to get up at 6:30 AM in order to get things ready for the Prowler Owners to have a nice place to park. Some days you tame the lion,,,some days you're his lunch! Feeling slightly chewed on right now. ------------------ |

Gary and Mike, Since we have so much fun on the General Discussion Board, maybe we should just make a new forum for "Only Truely Prowler Related Topics" Personally, I like the format we have, and have gained much in the way of friendships (yes, even with you, Gary! - what AM I thinking?) and general information with such topics as diverse as riding lawnmowers (who woulda thunk it, huh?) to pets to the most recent with the charity drive (literally) for Patrick. I do like the idea of having a "Flame Pit" or "Romper Room" to take heated disagreements to, but seriously, I can only think of two posts since the POA was created which could benefit from such a place, and both have been handled courteously and politely, and ended appropriately and quickly. We are all adults here, and I think personal responsibility and decency applies. We should all be proud of this website (thanks Mike for making it happen!) and each other for making the content so rich, rewarding, and fun - no matter how juvenille we get at times. Having a "designated corner" to voice serious disagreement may be helpful - but I don't think we really need it. Opinions are respected and discussed as it stands right now. What more could we ask for - as long as we respect each other, which I see happening all the time. Let's just have fun (even if it IS at Gary's expense) That's my 28 cents worth of an opinion... Why the new forum, some people still have 56K modems, they want to read what's happening, they wait minutes for the down load, finally get there and find out someone took a shot at the a reply that had nothing to do with the thread. I am way guilty of this, OK, the most guilty. I'm not leaving Team-CJ just yet, but (hint hint Gary!) would consider siding with the highest bidder if the Price Is Right!!! It was my understanding that this added forum was for the purpose of posting topics that were not necessarily Prowler-related. You know, TEAM CJ vs. TEAM Gary, lawnmowers, pets, etc. etc. etc. I didn't get the impression that it was for venting or bashing. Please correct me if I am wrong. I believe that we don't need to be using any forum on this board for any of that kind of behavior. Just my opinion, thanks! |
