Bill Somers (KATATAK) passed away last night at home near Dayona Beach. We have lost a good man, fun Prowler owner and to us a very dear personal friend. Bill and Lyann are behind so many great smiles at Prowler events and truly enjoy Prowler friends. Bill proudly proclaimed on the Nova Scotia event in 2013, "I am so popular they named a very well known school after me. Somer School!" A Vet, history buff and a man with a terrific sense of humor.

Just saw this on FaceBook. Such a great loss. He was a wonderful guy. Funny and full of stories. Always smiling! The Prowler family has lost a great friend. Our sincerest condolences to Lyann and their families. You are in our thoughts and prayers. |

Dear Lyann, I am always saddened by the death of a good person I have met on my Prowler adventures. It is from this sadness that a feeling of gratitude emerges. I feel honored to have known Bill and blessed that his passing serves as a reminder to me that my time on this beautiful earth is limited and that I should seize the opportunity I have to explore and live life to its fullest. fun guy to be around and he will be missed. Talked with Lyann at the Shipsawana event and he had encouraged her to go even though he wasn't up to traveling. A great couple Our Condolances to Lyann and all of Bill's loved ones. |

Wow, that is horrible news. When I saw and started reading Mike's post the very first thing I thought of was the trip to Nova Scotia and his "Somer school" comment. A very funny guy, and a lot of fun to be around. We were looking forward to seeing him in the next few weeks. Lyann, so very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this terrible time. |
